Stay at these tastefully renovated, self-contained Art Deco apartments built in Burnie, Tasmania in 1937. They've been modernised with spas, full heating and other luxurious extras but the claw foot baths, stlyish antiques and original decor are still there to delight you.The spacious and stylish 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments are self-contained with a full-sized kitchen, lounge/dining room and laundry. This is the perfect base to relax and luxuriate after each day exploring Tasmania's beautiful north-west. Drive through rainforest, see the snow, climb a peak, or relax on golden beaches. Then luxuriate in a spa apartment in the city!

Don't be put off by the dark, forbidding exterior - art deco architecture was not a highlight in the overall history of architecture. The rooms are decorated in a consistent 1930s-40s style, and they are huge! We had a 2 bedroom apartment, with a massive lounge room, good bathroom, washer and dryer. Despite being centrally located, it was quiet at night. The kitchen was also huge, with a proper oven and stove top. My only beef though is this: stove and microwave are there, but there is not one piece of cooking equipment in the place - no saucepan, frypan or plastic microwave bowls. It seems rather odd.

Thank you for your review, Im sure the details you have added will be very helpful to others traveling. I am happy to confirm that our kitchens are fully stocked with cooking equipment, but am not sure if this was a different experience for you as I started with the company a little later in the month. We wish you well on your future travels.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment for two nights. The apartment was authentically and very tastefully decorated in the Art Deco style. The apartment was very spacious and in an excellent location to local shops and cafes. Melissa is very helpful and friendly. We had the misfortune of Virgin airlines losing our luggage. Melissa made sure our luggage was safely delivered to our room. The property is beautifully decorated but in need of some minor repairs. Some of the bathroom tiles need some work and the kitchen could do with a refresh. But it has everything you need. The rooms are very clean and the linen is fresh and crisp (like in a 5 star hotel).

The 2 bed apartment I had to myself was very big & comfortable & with my food and drink supplies in, it felt like a proper home (I gave up a night in Melbourne to stay here 1 more night. Within 10–15 minutes walk you have the lovely beach, huge park, Target, k-mart, supermarket, bottle shop & places to eat & drink. I hired a car for 4 (out of 8) days & heading east there were little towns and more lovely beaches about every 2-3 miles and inland a fantastic Woolworths supermarket and tourist attractions. Only tiny downsides were the size of the TV & so many channels being unavailable & the lack of internet (which I understand may be remedied this year). Last thing was having to go around a couple of times to relock all the windows in the evening. Overall a lovely comfortable stay

The bed was comfortable, the water was hot, and the location was excellent. This is the place for you if you like stained doonas, rubbish that isn't collected for days unless you ask, once white lace curtains that are now charcoal grey, vinyl floors that are sticky, carpets that aren't cleaned, a highway that curves around the building with log and other trucks exercising their air-brakes through the day and night, ancient heating systems, paint peeling off walls, rusting stove top plate circles, minimal kitchen ware such as no salad bowl, filthy blinds, wind whistling under doors and through rattling windows, gloomy lighting, failed light bulbs not replaced, old stained tea towels, wall hung pictures with drinks thrown across them, an assortment of mostly non Art-Deco furniture and fittings that are various vintages and in some cases give the appearance of coming from a second hand shop, and a tiny television screen. If you stay one night you probably won't notice much and be comfortable enough, but the longer you stay the more depressing details you will see. Without a doubt the Art-Deco shape of the external building and the interior ceilings are marvellous, so if you want to experience a piece of Burnie's architectural history then stay. However - the apartments advertise free wifi - unfortunately this is not available in all rooms as they say. I had to be moved to an apartment where it did work so please make sure you double check that you don't get an apartment at a distance from the reception area if wifi is something you need and expect.

Worst experience ever. This place looks nothing like photos, must have been taken twenty years ago. Rooms are dingy and smelly, curtains are brittle with dirt. No one was there to greet us when we arrived. Thanks to someone walking around we found office where key had been left then we couldn't find room. This place should be taken off your website. We actually went downtown to look for somewhere else to stay but all were booked out. The garden which looks nice on website is overgrown messy weeds etc. The building has mould all over walls. Our impression of the whole place that it looked and felt like a halfway house for bikies. The room was freezing and we had to retire early as the only warm part was the beds which thank goodness did have electric blankets. We vacated very early next morning. Glad to get out of there. Also bathroom was old, rusty bath, tiny washbasin with tap that dripped. Tea, coffee and sugar were in plastic containers not sachets, almost like an after thought

Very handy location, easy walk to shops and restaurants we really enjoyed staying in this funky art deco hotel. My family had the three bedroom apartment, the whole thing was decorated in Art Deco style, big as a family home, we stayed overnight only but would be great for a longer stay. Burnie was freezing when we arrived, the management had turned the heater on for us and the apartment was warm and toasty. The electric blankets on the beds were also appreciated. The only criticism was only three mugs in the kitchen so we had to have a hot drink in rounds.

As a regular Business traveller I like to try different places rather than stay in the same place all the time. Even though not all was perfect in ADT it was clean ,comfortable, quiet & close to town and the owner was very helpful. As in other listings on here the wifi did not work or even show up on my laptop for connection which is a bit annoying but not the end of the world . Would I stay there again...Yes.

We stayed one night only but enjoyed the experience. It was pretty cold at night outside but there is a good heater in the main room. Bedroom was quite cool and could do with an electric blanket for the colder times of year. Bathroom had a good shower. Overall good value for money

The Apartment is really handy to the Shops at Burnie, and a walking distance to the beach. Melissa really helpful and follow up the guests, she called several times before we arrived, just to make sure we were alright, because we're late in arriving to the town.
The Apartment has been upgraded in some i.e Bath room, but some part need to be upgraded too especially the kitchen.

'This is a complete apartment in every way. First it is large, 2 bedrooms, a fully furnished kitchen, a large living room, and bathroom, and a top loading washing machine and separate dryer. The main bedroom has a very comfortable queen size bed, two night stands and a wardrobe. This second bedroom is small and has a twin bed and night stand. The living room has a couch and two matching overstuffed chairs along with a small dining table in front of the window. There also is a small flat screen TV/DVD player. The manager has a box of DVD movies you can borrow. The kitchen is complete with much counter space, small refrigerator with a top freezer, plenty if pots and pans and dishes, also a dish washer. The whole apartment is beautifully painted, has varnish wood floors with area rugs in each room and completely decorated in the charming art deco style. It is centrally located on a dead end street and you park in the back where also is the reception office. You are within walking distance to the super markets and a number of restaurants and cafes if you want to eat out. You can't find a finer place to stay.
