The Spa Cottage I stayed in was perfectly appointed, peaceful, set in natural surroundings, with birds and wildlife just outside the windows. Ideal. As a keen amateur bird photographer, the use of the platform to photograph the forty-spotted pardalote was fabulous, let alone the array of other birds I saw and photographed while I was there.

I stayed for 3 nights with a fellow birdwatcher at Nairana Cottage which was a nice homely accommodation. The heater was on when we arrived (it was a chilly day so it was appreciated) and I enjoyed the little touches like the little handmade soaps they provided and the fact that they don't use the standard mini hotel shampoo/conditioner bottles as they provide larger bottles which stay in the shower (much more eco friendly and convenient!). We didn't use the kitchen to cook any meals during our stay but it was very well equipped. There is also a BBQ outside on the balcony.
We were amazed at all the great birds we saw on the property, the highlights being Swift Parrots and multiple sightings of the Forty-spotted Pardalotes which inhabit the property. We were lucky to see a Beautiful Firetail in the Jurassic Garden too (also a nice place to walk around and enjoy nature). We were surprised at the range of items in the gift shop too. Plenty of great items especially for bird lovers (including tea towels, bags, gift cards, and pins) and one of my favourites were the handmade soaps. Overall a very enjoyable and hospitable stay and would definitely consider staying there again one day.

Thank-you so much for your glowing review and we are so pleased that you had such an enjoyable time staying in Nairana Cottage. We like to think of our guests as part of the large Inala family, so we set up the cottages as we would like to have them for ourselves, including the touches you mentioned in the bathroom - even small things can help reduce waste and be more environmentally friendly. Entry to the 5-acre Jurassic Garden is free is you stay on the property, and we are seeing more birds and animals make it their home as time goes by. A big thank-you to you for the feedback on the gift shop as well - we really appreciate it and are always on the lookout to support local Bruny Island and Tasmanian artists and crafters, as well as stocking the more general items of a birding or natural history nature across all age groups. We look forward to having you visit us at Inala Bruny Island again!

My daughter and I had a lovely 2 nights at Inala while we explored Bruny Island. The cottage was perfect. Comfortable beds, spacious, warm and a lovely breakfast. Having a spa bath was just what we needed after a long day of hiking and being able to wash/dry clothes was something we missed at other places. The peace and quiet of being on the reserve was just what we needed and not having WIFI or phone service meant we could take a proper break from work for once!!
Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. For international visitors, it would be a perfect place to see wallabies and some of our native birds up close!!

Tranquillity is an increasingly rare commodity in today’s hectic world. Tranquillity with lovely wildlife visible from your patio is therefore a rare privilege. But this is what staying in one of the Inala cabins offers. Besides peace and a lovely, very comfortable cottage, Inala offers freedom to roam (with very few limitations) amongst the differing habitats that enable a wide variety of flora and fauna to thrive. The guided tour with Cat was a delight and extremely informative. This knowledge allowed us to walk throughout the reserve knowing what to expect and look for. And then there is the Pardalote Platform! How wonderful to get close to rare species! Thanks to owner Tonia’s vision and commitment, which is shared by her team, real conservation of became reality in this amazing place. Environmental change is possible when every individual decides to act and make a difference – Inala is an amazing example and role-model. Our sincere thanks to the Inala team – keep up the inspiring work.

We spent one night at Nairana Cottage, but could have stayed an entire week! The Cottage contains plenty of amenities to keep you comfortable while you enjoy the peaceful seclusion of the nature reserve and is perfectly positioned as a hide from which to observe the many animal residents of Inala. We came as a couple, but there was space enough for a small family. We booked the Bruny Breakfast and were treated to a smorgasbord of fresh bread, eggs, milk, museli, fruit and jams.
Definitely book a tour for while you stay - the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and their insights will help you appreciate Inala and the surrounding landscape even more!

We spent 2 nights in the Inala Cottage (I really wish I had booked 3), everything was absolutely perfect. The staff are incredibly kind and friendly. The cottage itself is gorgeous and comfortable. The fire was lit when we arrived, and we were supplied with everything we could need for a wonderful stay. The garden around the cottage is stunning and attracts an array of birds. There are many walks that can be taken from right out the back door across a cute little bridge. we spent our days wandering around the property in awe at the abundance of birds. My children commented how much nicer it is to walk into a warm cottage rather than crawl into a cold wet tent. I am so glad that I booked this to break up our camping trip. The jurassic garden and museum are a lovely stroll from the front of the cottage and are wonderful to spend time in. My son had a 3 hour guided tour which he loved - he learnt a great deal about the birds and picked up some useful tips. He was able to see every bird that he was hoping for and to spend time observing and photographing them. We spent two hours in the raptor hide which was incredible. a very luxurious bird hide with amazing views of the raptors that came to visit as well as the smaller birds. The Inala team are just delightful - so warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful. There are pademelons on the property, and we saw eastern quolls nearby. The entire area is just beautiful. It is so wonderful to have the opportunity to explore the property. We loved it and will certainly return.

The staff and owner, Tonia at Inala are most welcoming, helpful and hospitable. The property is a haven for so many birds, plants and animals. Nairana Cottage in a bush setting is where we spent three relaxing days. The cottage was well equipped with all the facilities that you could want. We did a property guided tour with Catherine seeing a variety of bird species, her guiding and knowledge was excellent. Throughout our time here we also used the Raptor hide and on mulitple occasions the walking tracks, Paradalote platform as well as wandering through the Jurassic Garden. Late in the day we loved watching the birds feeding on the nectar loving plants. The garden is evolving and we enjoyed the rare and unusual plants. Inala is a nature lovers paradise, so do yourself a favour and go visit. We loved our time here.

2 nights not nearly enough in this lovely and comfortable accommodation. Every window has a beautiful natural scene and a short outdoor walk to see a lifer 40 Spotted Parelote. All the amenities were new and spotless. Having access to a country kitchen allowed us to enjoy home cooked meals. We did not need for anything. An excellent location with access to all the property and great to explore South Bruny. We will be back

What a lovely place! My family and I stayed in the Inala cottage, which was spacious, clean, and surrounded by nature and wildlife, including countless pademelons and birds. The cottage was well-appointed, with comfortable beds, wifi, and everything we needed to cook. Inala is also conveniently located to Hotel Bruny (where we had an early New Year's Eve dinner) and to South Bruny National Park. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay!

It certainly is the best place (in the world, we believe!) to be immersed in nature and see a wide range of native wildlife who also call Inala home. Our 3 night stay at Nairana Cottage exceeded our expectations (which were high!). The cottage is extremely comfortable and nicely set up. We had in-cottage breakfast included, and we were amazed at the delicious yogurt, homemade bread, eggs, fruit, granola, etc - a bounty of fresh food to start our days. The setting within Inala is beautiful and quiet, surrounded by birds and grazing pademelons. We highly recommend Nairana Cottage and the Inala Nature Reserve.
