What a wonderful place to stay and be able to experience Bruny Island in all its majesty. The rooms are very new and beautifully set up with a very comfortable bed and a fully self contained kitchen with self cook facilities. There are two Adirondack chairs on the deck that looks towards the Hartz Mountains. I was provided two breakfast packs which were great. Day 1 was a ham and cheese panini with fruit juice and a lemon tart. day 2 was yoghurt, a chocolate tart, fruit juice and oats.

The room was warmed naturally by the sun but also was easy to cool with the aircon.

The Lodge is adjacent to the Hotel Bruny where you can get great food for lunch and dinner. There is also a small shop and cafe over the road.

The location is great for exploring being only 30 minutes away from the Bruny Cruise terminal, 30 minutes from the ferry and just over 30 minutes drive to the lighthouse as well.

Great atmosphere, great service, great beer, great food, great donation camp out the back.... but they really need to extend being so popular on the island! Standing room only in the bar, and must book a table at the restaurant or you will miss out! There is also a fee to eat your food in the pub from the takeaway menu. Could double in size and still make a mint!

Not all they say in the info is correct. There is no bath, there is no wifi, it won awards for design with nowhere to hang a bath towel so they “ echo friendly” give you clean ones every day!(?) . There’s one chair for two people to sit on.. one lucky person gets a bedside table, the other doesn’t. It’s vey nicely fitted out with what they have done but it’s failings only earn it a three. We had three nights and each clean got less and less. A call to the management failed to get any response. Shame cause it could have been so much better. Hope it improves these small things as the scenery is spectacular!

Had been waiting to eat here for a while after reading all the impressive A1 reviews. Booked in 2 weeks ahead so we would not miss out.
The service was friendly and publican was hospitable.
We arrived to a dinning room absolutely packed with people. No knowledge of socially distancing here. Tables were squished into the room some would not be a hands width apart at the most. Our reserved table was so close to a young family that the Mum grabbed the kids straight away and changed seats. Feeling uncomfortable we asked to change tables to one at the front of the room with a little more room around it, our request was accomadated. All the time people were coming in and lined up from the door to the bar virtually on top of each other.
We placed orders for drinks and meals at the bar. Meals came within 15mins however the Lamb Shoulder meals delicious but was just warm. The Pizza doughy with uncooked base and the Seafood Platter crispy tiny marble Scallops, crispy oily filled chips and battered Fish and the Salmon was dry and very overcooked. The smoked Salmon was delicious and the olives and garnish a nice touch. My guess would be precooked and and a quick heat up in the deep fryer again just warm also.
We watched tables being cleared not wiped down at all on most occasions before people where seated again and there was no hand sanitisers anywhere to be seen.

We were so impressed. We went for lunch, the place was so very busy. We were allocated a table very quickly, the wine choice was great and reasonably priced. Ordering is at the bar, which was fine. The person in front of me had no idea what he was ordering, or what to do, he was dealt with politely and helpfully, and I am sure left happy
Our meals came incredibly promptly, considering how busy they were. We shared a calamari entree, tender and tasty. My husband had the seafood chowder, and his satisfied mmmm’s were a testament. He feels it was the best he has ever had, I had a mouthful and it was great.
I had an entree serve of wings, and they were tender and well cooked.
There were bus loads of people coming through, and the wait staff had those tables cleared and ready for service in a matter of moments. We have all been to restaurants, where the previous diners detritus has been left forever.
The location is a bonus, shame it is so far away, we would go again
A real credit to the managers

We stayed at the Hotel Bruny Lodge in room 1 for 2 nights on 15-16 March 2022. The room had a comfortable queen sized bed, huge TV, kitchenette, air-conditioning and large bathroom. The room has a deck with chairs looking out to the water and is perfect for viewing sunsets. The lodge rooms are located just behind the Hotel Bruny so it is possible to walk there for your evening meal (or lunch).

Check in is at the Hotel Bruny. If you want to eat at the Hotel in the evening at a specific time, ensure you make a reservation - it can get very busy.

Overall this was a pleasant stay. I was concerned about noise from the Hotel, but it was very quiet and relaxing, just like Bruny Island should be. Even though the other lodge rooms were fully occupied, we did not hear or were disturbed by other guests.

We just loved Hotel Bruny. We spent several hours in the car before arriving late afternoon and we were absolutely delighted to find that our little motel room was adjacent to the fabulous pub. We settled into a table (one of the very few which wasn't already reserved on a Tuesday night!) and tucked into some local beer, gin, wine and food including some delicious oysters and seafood chowder. How good.
The room (one of two in this section of the Hotel Bruny complex) was clearly newly renovated and very clean, comfortable and modern.
The location can't be beaten with the water directly opposite and the little township within walking distance. It's also really easy to find - approx 35 mins drive from the ferry. The only advice I'd offer is to spray some WD40 on the door to the bathroom as it's a bit squeaky. Otherwise, couldn't fault a thing! Thanks, Hotel Bruny! We'll be back!

My wife, son and myself were on Bruny Island for a holiday and not wanting to miss the AFL Grand Final and wanting to watch it somewhere where there would be a good atmosphere we decided to book in for dinner at 6pm at Hotel Bruny. They suggested that we eat in the bar so that we would be seated where their only TV is but said that there was no reserved tables in the bar area. They assured us that if the bar was full we would be seated in the dining area for our meal at least. We arrived 20min early, not wanting to miss out on being seated in the bar area to find the hotel absolutely packed both in the bar area and in the dining area. Our hearts sank as we thought we would miss out as we stood in the bar and that's when the hotel staff member that we had spoken to a couple of days before spotted us and came over and said " you guy's had a reservation for dinner and to watch the AFL GF in the bar" we said yes and much to our surprise she showed us the 3 reserved seats in the bar area directly in front of the TV. Our meals were absolutely fantastic and the staff were very friendly. During the game the publican brought out free pizza's for everyone, it was one of the best Grand Final days that I have ever spent anywhere and that was all thanks to the fantastic staff and publican at Hotel Bruny. Would high recommend the hotel for meals and for social drinks at the bar. AAA+

With very limited competition on the island, you could expect that the Hotel Bruny might not offer a great food & service at reasonable prices. That was certainly my concern, but worry not.

Located on the west coast, Hotel Bruny offers an all day dining menu with plenty of variety, a decent wine list and friendly professional service.

Add a great view and plenty of parking and you’re onto a winner.

We travelled the 20 minutes from Adventure Bay for dinner and it was well worth it. And of course, there are no other options at the moment for an evening meal.
