Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Never go anywhere with preconceived ideas that’s how this place is. Excellent lodgings but come stocked with food as the local general store isn’t cheap, beside that complimentary Vodka and even a Tesla charging point, as well as undercover parking and very good heating for the colder months. The price was top value for money and I’m already looking forward to returning.

The cabins are clean and have modern amenities with a cosy feel. Gloria is a lovely manager who knows how to look after people. The wood fire is a great touch and only needed a match before the room was beautiful and warm. Beds are comfortable and there is plentiful hot water. A wonderful place to have a relaxing stay or just to break your journey up the middle of Tassie whilst touring.

Very clean and comfortable. Has everything you need for a self contained stay including free clothes washing facility which came in very handy. Ensure you purchase supplies from supermarket on your way to the highlands as there is only a small general store out at Bronte.

We just stayed one night on our way to the West Coast. The cabins are in a lovely isolated spot and are beautifully well-designed with every amenity you could ask for. Very comfortable 2 br cabin with full kitchen, slow combustion stove ready laid with firewood (it wasn't cold enough to use it but would be lovely in winter) and a verandah to watch the sunset and the grazing wallabies. Even a small carafe of port was supplied, along with ground coffee, tea, milk etc. It would be a great place to set up for a week or so.
We drove down to the boat ramp at Little Pine lake (ask for directions) about 10 min away and had a swim in the chilly waters.
Highly recommended.

Loved our visit such a warm and welcoming stay. If you are looking for 5 Star accommodation Highland Cabins and Cottages are not for you! If you are looking for somewhere, super clean and comfortable in Central Highlands of Tasmania this is the place to book! We loved our one bedroom cabin with log fire and spa in bathroom. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook with (bring your own groceries as no shops near by) the kitchen did have tea and coffee ready to be used, the fireplace was stacked ready for us to light on arrival. The washing machine in bathroom came in handy (is also a dryer in building just behind the office however we didn’t need it) airer near washing machine came in handy would hang out washing in lounge and it would then be dry thanks to warmth in house by fire the next morning. Fire kept the cabin toasty warm even with negative temps outdoors overnight.

This was a real surprise. We checked into the cabin which had 2 large bedrooms and a fire place which was already stacked and made the cabin super warm. The kitchen was slightly older but clean and had all appliances. The town has a poorly stocked general store so buy food before travelling to the area. This accom was superb. And the host arranged for a local wildlife rescuer to bring baby wombats to see and pat which we loved

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the highland cabins in bronte park in mid august.
Woke to a winter wonderland of snow. We stayed in a studio apartment which was comfortable and cosy. Had eveything to self cater, Great shower pressure. Electric heating is only in the studio apartments and wood fires available in 1 and 2 bedroom cottages. We where shown the cottages and they are a great size with full kitchens. Next time we will book a 1 bedroom cottage, especially if travelling in the winter months. Just remember to take your own food as there is nothing close by for eating out.

This cabin was self contained with small kitchenette and separate bathroom & toilet. Generous balcony opened onto the bushland view and included a handy BBQ. Bed was comfortable and the room had large glass doors giving an esy view of the bushland.

We had a one night stopover at a cottage, The mamager was absolutely fantastic an could not do enough for us, Cottage was one of the cleanest and neatest have ever stayed in. Port that was complementary was a nice gesture. The wood heater an wood avaible was well recieved. Will recomend to any traveller. Great.

These cabins are really nice. Very roomy, everything you need for a self-contained stay, clean, great views, big verandah, good heating, comfy bed.
Gloria was a fabulous host. She had the heating going in our room , was very informative about things to see in the area and we appreciated the welcoming Port!
It is the best place to lay over on your trip across from one coast to the other. Lot's of things to do and see on the way to and from. Waterfalls, The Wall, Walks, Wineries. Wonderful!

Road conditions will vary daily. You may get anything from bright sun and dry roads through to road closures due to snow. The highway is narrow and for mainlanders can be quite daunting in terms of corners. Exercise common sense and if conditions are damp and cold be wary of ice and black ice. Shadows over roads can also hide slippery conditions. If you get a clear blue sky day, the views are spectacular.
