After a few nights in a tent it was a delight to be welcomed by Barbara and Colin in their lovely property. A separate immaculate stand alone cottage with space to sort ourselves out and have a cup of tea with Colin’s homemade shortbread. Useful tips of the area and a fabulous cook your own breakfast in a little pagoda with views down to the water. Absolutely idyllic. Nothing was too much trouble and Colin brought up the hand held vacuum and helped us clean the rental car whilst Barbara gave us more of Colin’s shortbread for the journey. If we come back I wouldn’t stay anywhere else! Perfect. Thank you

Right off the bat, you need to book this place as it is popular with at least one international travel agent, Tasmanian Odyssey, who sends all her clients here, including us.
Barb and Colin run this excellent BnB. Clean, bright, modern, quiet and lots of sun pouring into our unit, Cove cottage. The bed, choice of pillow softness and a duvet are excellent. It is a self catering standalone cottage fully equipped with microwave, pots and pans etc. Also an electric bbq outside. A fully stocked fridge with excellent breakfast choices including really fresh eggs. Electric wall heater in the main area as well as one in the bathroom. Gorgeous garden with a pathway down to the sea, with a bench to sit on while taking in the beauty. Nice touches include dressing gowns, a heating rack in the bathroom to keep your towels warm & laundry service. Barb will do a load for you and get it back to you quickly. Easy parking at your door. Wifi in Reception. Do your own cooking or reserve a spot at one of the few restaurants in Beauty Point .. there is one within walking distance. Oh did I mention Happy? The resident pouch is a joy to use watch. Narawntapu National Park, Seahorse World, Platypus House and the Mining Museum are all close by.

What a beautiful stay, made so easy by Barbara and Colin. Everything one needed, sensational little cottage to stay in and how amazing to wake up in the morning and open the balcony door to a most magnificent view over their immaculate gardens across to the Tamar River. Thanks Barb and Colin. Highly recommended to stay.

Cannot say enough about how wonderful the hosts Barbara and Colin were. Nothing was an effort and the added touches in the cabin highlighted that hospitality was their focus.
When they discovered we were making use of the spotless BBQ area Colin even supplied fresh veggies I watched him collect from their abundant veggie garden.
A massive brekkie was included in the late check out. Nothing about our stay was negative except that it was only one night!

As the title suggests, Barbara and Colin want to spoil you during your stay. They do just that. My wife and I stayed in the Bay Cottage which has the spa bath. This cottage was great and had a nice view out over the gardens to the Tamar River.
On arrival Barbara was so happy to share with us her little piece of paradise and provide a brief history of the property. It really is a beautiful place in Tasmania. Breakfast provided was a nice hamper of bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, tasty sausages and lovely fresh bread daily. Also provided is juice and plunger coffee.
The cottages are are short 400m walk to the Tamar Cove restaurant, we ate there both nights and the food was great. Also only a short drive to Beaconsfield and some lovely wineries in the area.
Thanks Barbara and Colin, we will be recommending your cottages to all of our friends heading your way.

We received the warmest of welcomes from Barbara and Colin and they gave us really good advice regarding local restaurants and Cellar Doors to visit. We stayed in the Bay Cottage which had a really nice outlook over the gardens and the river. It was spotlessly clean and very well appointed with a lovely big and very comfortable bed which was great to watch the sunrise from in the morning. You are provided with a breakfast hamper and encouraged to use the electric bbq in the gazebo which we did and sat on our balcony to eat our breakfast which was a perfect start to our day. Our son and his partner stayed in the other cottage where the only difference was the type of bathroom, I can’t recommend this little gem enough thanks Barbara and Colin.

Was booked in here for 3 nights by Tasmania Odyssey, and I could see why!

Stayed in Bay Cottage and it was a lovely self contained cottage with a nice clean bed (at least a queen size) with a small kitchen area with pots and pans and microwave and toaster and cutleries and utensils. A small living area with sofa, armchairs and a balcony facing the river rounds up the house.

Bay Cottage has a spa/jacuzzi in it and we simply soaked ourselves in it at the end of each day. :)

There was an open space in front of the cottage enough to park our car as well. Convenient at its best!

Breakfast hampers were provided everyday and we were encouraged to use the gazebo to BBQ our food (which we didn’t), but we cooked in the cottage itself. Fresh produce everyday and for a fact that my friend is lactose intolerant, Colin made sure to let us know that the milk provided was that when he walked us through the property and the cottage itself.

When Colin and Barbara heard about our plans to explore the vineyards around Tamar Valley one morning, when we went back after our day out, a list of must visit vineyards was printed and neatly placed on the coffee table for us! A small gesture but it just shows how much attention they were paying!

As this was the start of the trip, it definitely raised the bar high for the rest of our stay in Tasmania! :)

Don’t go anywhere else! “Bay Cottage” was superb. Colin and Barbara are gems. The room was excellent, the DIY cooked breakfast in the pagoda was great fun and the views of the estuary are stunning.

A real treat after two nights camping - and even better with a glass of wine sitting on our balcony overlooking the garden and estuary!

Barb was the most welcoming of hosts, with plenty of useful tips. The property is stunning, right on the water with a garden and gazebo that it peaceful.
Our room was beyond our expectations, the private balcony, the jacuzzi, the view..
Definitely the place to stay in beauty point.
