Never have I ever been made to feel terrible visiting a place than Walcha Caravan Park. As another reviewer stated after seeing our cabin on offer for ‘anything but a bargain price’ I decided to request a refund, nothing wrong with that, right? Well I was then treated by Luke and Tam with total contempt and was lucky to get my refund and leave without suffering physical harm. The title of my review does not refer to the park grounds but to the hosts. I have been banned by Luke from visiting but I would never consider this place again. Visit this place at your peril.

Can't understand the negative reviews. Clean, quiet park, friendly helpful hosts. We stop here every year for a couple of nights, have done so for past 5 years and will do in the future. Certainly wouldn't keep coming back if it wasn't clean and well run. We travel extensively around australia in the Van and while this is a smaller park than some along the coast, it maintains a very good standard. Worth a visit in February for the Walcha races, also pleasant walk to this top country town. Thanks Tam and Luke, you're doing a good job.

Took an unpowered site for one night. Friendly, clean, everything you need. Excellent camp kitchen. Best hot shower I have had in any caravan park ever. Easy access on foot or by car into town. Public pool next door. 15 minute drive to beautiful Aspley Falls next day.

A HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR A FILTHY BED AND THE WORST KIND OF VERBAL ABUSE??? I just wanted my money back. I arrived here looking for a cabin, had to run the gauntlet of a bunch of men and some kids on the ramp to the office who were talking, and whose conversation included such gems "you don't wanna hafta stick ya toothbrush up ya arse to clean ya teeth...haw haw haw..." . Nice welcome. Among these was Luke, the owner, and he seemed a friendly chap and I asked him if he had a cabin for the night. One of the kids said to me, "yeah ya can have all of 'em ". So there were no other guests I take it. He told his kid to go and tell her mum to go into the office to serve me. I met Tam, who seemed very nice and she showed me to the cabin, and very kindly printed off a menu from the local cafe. She told me if there was anything I needed to just ask. Once inside, I looked at the toilet. Filthy. Or old and stained, not sure. Next I looked at the bed. The pillow in the picture was the first alarm bell. I only took one pic - that was enough, and should be enough. The bedsheet was the same, old bloodspots turned black from bleach. There was a hair matching Tam's on the doona cover and a couple of food crumbs. The corner of the doona cover was what did it. Stained, and revolting. No. Not happening. I know that as a consumer I have a choice, and as I had only just arrived, assumed I could just tell them my concerns, get a refund, and leave. I called Tam, she said she would come and look, and very nicely said that she's go and arrange a refund. But when I arrived at the office, I was greeted by a bellowing Luke, who went through the ridiculous charade of marching down to the cabin to see, as I waited, and on his return, called me an effing b^$#ch, and screamed in my face that he was sick to effing death of effing b^$#ches like me and that no one else complained and I could eff off. I simply asked for my money back as I wanted to go, but he said that he wasn't gonna do it. Then his tack was "yeah alright, but I'm gunna take off the time ya been in there, ya been in there half an hour already...I dunno what ya been doin in there..." I said well "do I go and get the police?" And his wife Tam said that I was threatening them. Every time I tried to speak, or speak to Tam (who was now looking at me blankly and mute) Luke bellowed more obscenities at me so I couldn't be heard. He was so wound up, I thought hew was going to get physical. In the weirdest way, he suddenly and finally, decided he'd better do it, still bellowing obscenities at me. I left, shaking, and really should have gone to the police station because NO-ONE DESERVES THAT! I just drove away, in a messed up state, as far away from Walcha as I could. I think this guy is a lunatic. I have no idea he didn't just give me a refund in the first place.
