What a surprise this motel was. Heading home, got to Uralla and it plus Armidale were totally booked out except for this property - a bad sign? Booked in, not feeling good, opened door and well, that's a surprise!! Spotless, the room was smallish but the bathroom large, bed was pretty good, shower was great (if a little cramped) but...

Spotlessly clean. Negligible noise from highway. The best modern heater in a room I have found in a motel in years. The freezer of the refrigerator was ice free. Easily overlooked because the signage needs freshening up. However, looks can deceive. I would stay here again. A big thank you to the elderly owner who waited up for our arrival....

The big sign on the road said $69 (did not read the small print, as I was driving, indicating and turning into the driveway of this quaint motel). When offered a room for $69 +GST - duh? the owner agreed to let me stay for $69. I know the place is up for sale, but please change your sign to...

Basic older style motel - highway noise not noticeable - spotless with basic amenities - unfortunately beds were as hard as concrete so not a quality restful sleep - roadhouse next door for dinner - basic food, not too bad. Was a welcome overnight stop for a weary driver.

Had an excellent nights sleep in this clean, basic motel. On the highway but the noise was minimal. No fancy extras, the rooms were clean and provided basic items such as toaster, kettle etc. Good price, did not tack on an extra person charge.

Older style, but spotlessly clean, everything you need is there, good bathroom etc. If you're looking for ritzy, go elsewhere, but if you're looking for cheap, clean accommodation, I highly recommend the Altona.

Stayed overnight on the way back to Sydney from Warwick. Outstanding value for money. Room was very clean, older amenities but everything works like new, very comfortable bed, and convenient diner and fuel stop next door. Recommend to travellers who need a cheap overnight resting place.

This motel is clean, comfortable, friendly & value for money. It is a little dated but that does not impact on your stay. The owner is a character & we would stay here again. Got a good nights sleep even though close to highway. Good to have table, chairs outside for our room. 10 min walk into town. The food...

In Memphis, Tennessee, there's a place called the Lorraine Motel. Some of it has been preserved just as it was back in 1968 when Martin Luther King was assassinated there. It's now a Civil Rights Museum. I'm pretty sure nobody has ever been assasinated at the Altona Regency Motel in Uralla. Yet a stay there is also a return to...
