I stayed here for 1 night on a weekend trip away. The plan was to check out Girraween National Park & do some hiking & maybe visit a winery or 2. Tally Ho was a great choice - it was only 25 minutes from Girraween NP (where I did hikes both days) & I wanted to cross the border into NSW for the first time since Covid and stay for a night. $99 was great value for a double room that included an electric blanket (much needed - it was 3 degrees!) & free continental breakfast brought to your room. The room was small but cosy & there were only 2 other cars behind motel rooms so it was nice & quiet. There was a security gate with key access so I felt safe. It was only a 2 minute drive into Tenterfield town centre (where I walked past Barnaby Joyce’s office!). I had dinner in town at Commercial Boutique Hotel that night & the next day drove into town for coffee and then up to Mt Mackenzie Lookout. Tip - Watch your speed once you get over the QLD border as there is a camera just before you come into town and it’s only 50km an hour & after 2 hrs plus going 100km/hr it’s hard to slow down to what feels like a snail pace by comparison

We were part of a travelling group and booked three rooms. The motel is further from the town centre than most of the others. The "budget" rooms are older and small, smaller than an average motel room, but also cheaper. Quite good for single travellers, a bit small for a couple. The newer rooms are a good size, with a queen and single bed and a couch. All rooms had crockery, toaster, microwave. Very comfortable, clean. Happy to stay here again.

Great room, clean and a very comfortable bed. Thursday to Saturday night pizza can be ordered for dinner. We had a lovely pizza could recommend to anybody, there is a choice of several and delivered to your room. A microwave is in the room and a lounge to sit on to watch the TV. The car is secured as there is a automatic gate which is operated via a tag attached to your keys.

Our room although not the largest that I’ve stayed in, had everything that we required. The bed was quite comfortable and the entire unit including the bathroom was very clean and the hot water was hot. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed at the Motor Inn for two nights in the middle of the dreadful fires. The New England Highway was closed both north and south also the Bruckner Highway was closed, so we were trapped. The motel looked after us and cooked our dinner the first night. The room was great with all amenities (TV, Foxtel, large refrigerator and microwave). It was very clean and a comfortable large bed. The is one of several times we have stayed here and can't praise the managers enough, and they kept us informed about the fires while looking after a large number of fire fighters.

Would recommend this motel to anyone wanting cleanliness and friendliness. Well appointed and safe with a electric door to enter complex. You can order pizzas and alcohol for dinner in your room. Very convenient for the tired traveller. ✅

A short way out of town and although on the highway, very little road noise at night. Comfortable room if a little small, with adequate furnishings. Good bed - slept very well. Complimentary breakfast and a reasonable dinner menu in the dining room.

Hi Rob, There is Truck parking available. Semi Trailers normally park across the road. Smaller trucks up to 20 tonne there is parking on the property. We don't allow articulated vehicles to park on the property as it is on grassed area and they destroy the grass when turning.
There are more places to choose from in the Tenterfield area.
