Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We recently stayed at the Millthorpe Boutique Motel on a weekend away with another couple, booked into two rooms. Our friends left after two nights, but we had wanted a longer look around the beautiful town of Millthorpe, so we had asked our friends, who were making the bookings, to put us down for four nights. On the morning our friends left my partner was feeling a bit unwell, so we had hung out the 'Do Not Disturb' sign, aiming for an unhurried start to the day. At 10.30 am, Emma (Millthorpe Boutique Motel employee) hammered on our door and when my wife answered, came at us all guns blazing to inform us we needed to vacate immediately and move next door, that we had ignored her text telling us this, and that we were lucky she wasn't going to charge us for the cleaning fee for the unit next door, since we'd stayed in the wrong unit. We were entirely unaware of what she was very stridently telling us. When we tried to explain that we were unaware of the fact we a) we should have been occupying the other unit (as the longer stay) or b) of any text that had been sent...Emma doubled down - on the volume and tone, as well as the message. When she eventually paused my partner explained to her that we had no issue at all with moving, and that we would have done so if we'd been aware we needed to do so, she blustered on. My wife finally asked her to please bring her volume down and to consider whether starting with a question rather than a series of accusations might have gone better. Having understood that the extended stay was booked to our friends' room, so we dutifully moved next door for the next two nights. What was otherwise a really pleasant stay in Millthorpe (recommended!) was spoiled because of the Millthorpe Boutique Motel's employee Emma not being either suited to or trained for interacting with guests and instead going straight to yelling and accusing rather than just letting us know that we needed to be in the room next door. Which was no problem at all. Due to Emma, we won't be stay here again, and nor will our friends who recommended the hotel and stay there regularly for work. There are lots of other options in Millthorpe. We'd recommend looking at those instead.

Booked for one night but so impressed with the room and the beautiful sleepy village of Millthorpe, stayed an extra night. Large, clean room with good shower. Perfect really. Great cafe opposite for coffee and snacks. Pub for dinner and rehydration walking distance from accommodation. Easy communication with host James. We will be back

This motel has everything one would want for a short stay. Spotlessly clean and located in the centre of town offering a short easy walk to everything. The only negative I could find is that parking, whilst close to the door is not right at the door. Fine under normal circumstances but if you have mobility problems may be a problem. I certainly would not avoid because of this. The room has a nice sitting area, kitchen sink tea making facilities and a choice of goodies to purchase if need be. Check in was efficient and easy. The local pub seems to be the hub for a nice dinner and only a five minute walk away. We will certainly return when next passing this way.

This property was excellent. The rooms are modern, immaculate and emenities were great. The local pub, right around the corner has great food. If I'm in the area again this is where I'll stay. This is the type of place I want to stay.

Booked 3 nights acc in a King Deluxe Room using Booking.com, which gave me a Genius discount. The cost was $139/ night. The motel is located within the village of Millthorpe & so easy access to eateries, pubs & shopping. Contactless check in & check out. Only saw the cleaning staff 1 morning who were very helpful. We were allocated Room 3 towards the front of the complex. Carparking is also towards the front. Well maintained complex, both outside & in the room. Our room was very comfortable & well designed. Easy to self cater with a kitchenette, with a sink, fridge, kettle, microwave, electric frypan & toaster & a bench with chairs for eating. There was also 2 easy chairs. The fridge was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The ensuite was a good size with a walk in rainshower. Toilettries were replenished & so was tea, coffee, milk & biscuits The area is very quiet. The wifi was very slow & could not be relied upon. Also the air con was loud. Apart from these, it was a great stay & the town of Millthorpe well placed to explore the region.

We stayed here just one night visiting family and were very impressed with this motel. The room was clean, spacious and well equipped. There was a kitchenette with a microwave and a mini bar with a wide range of items from a can of soup to chocolate and other snacks. The bed was Queen size and very comfortable; the bathroom was spacious and the air conditioner worked well. There was no breakfast available at the motel but the Providore Cafe just across the road had delicious pastries and coffee. We would happily stay here again.

Quaint, that’s the best explanation I have for this place. Neat little room (was in Room 1 in the cottage) that had everything I needed for an overnight stay, it’s a bit tight and would have been more-so if I was sharing the room. Very clean, huge comfy bed and a cute little kitchenette for my morning coffee. Highly recommend the Providore Cafe across the road for breakfast, absolutely sensational breakfast burger and delicious coffee. Great little town too with an excellent old pub down the road that does excellent food.

We have stayed here on a couple of occasions when visiting Millthorpe and it’s a great spot. Quiet location in the middle of the village. Large room with settee and kitchenette and basic tea/coffee supplies. Loved that there were mugs and not silly small cups for our morning tea :-). Good toiletries and plenty of towels, etc. Warm a/c so a very comfortable Autumn night.
