Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped in Gunnedah as an overnight stay on our trip from Cairns to Sydney - Gunnedah is about 5hrs from Sydney. The motel ticks all the boxes for us, large 6m x 7m room (I stepped it out), off the main drag so a bit quieter, solid construction with good acoustic insulation, clean, huge king sized bed. If I was to nit pick the pillows were a bit high and the steel roof was a little creaky but added to the charm of the basic construction. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. Nice vibe and amongst local historic homes and wide streets. My other nit pick would be the price at $164.00 was a bit expensive for a motel but was the last room left in town and saved us from sleeping in the car. I’d stay here again without hesitation but would negotiate on price. Saying that, there’ was 100% occupancy (taking into account it was a Saturday night that we stayed).

Stayed here for the Gunnedah Show with our grand kids, rooms are spotless, large, well appointed and brand new. Huge TV and bathroom. Stark contrast to when we stayed at Rydges Cronulla, the room we had at Gunnedah Lodge was far superior and alot cheaper than Rydges. Breakfast is room service and good menu choice. The Motel is walking distance to main street and short drive to showground. Highly recommended, our hosts were truly lovely people and made us feel more than welcome. You won't be disappointed

Really lovey staff. Very clean room, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. Perfect to make our own breakfast and get on the road early. Immaculate condition and comfortable bed. Extremely large room. We booked a king room. Great water pressure, electric blankets on the bed (didn't use them but good to note). Walking distance to 2 pubs and services club for dinner.

Myself and my wife stayed at the Gunnedah LodgeMotel and found the stay very average. After looking at their website it told us that there were laundry facilities which there were not, the website also said there is onsite dining which there was not. Me and my wife both have disabilities but it was not conducive to people with disabilities as there were no grab rails or non slip showers to make it safer for people with disabilities. We were also charged $100 cleaning fee which was an excessive amount
While the stay in gunnedah was delightful i will commend the cleaners that were very friendly and helped make the stay more enjoyable. I will not stay there again next time we visit

This motel is always very clean, rooms are spacious and central to my needs. The people who own it are always welcoming upon my arrival and departure.
Comfortable beds and plump pillows which is important to everyone for a good nights sleep.
They provide a touch of hospitality by supplying a few free bickies to have with the complimentary tea and coffee and real milk, not the long life stuff.
I recommend this motel because it’s consistently a great stay.

Excellent rooms, value for money, clean & welcoming - all the modern amenities & wifi.

Met the owner at reception with their gorgeous big puppy, such a warm and inviting encounter, felt right at home.

Breakfast was delivered hot and on time.

Met some of the staff in the morning whilst leaving, very friendly.

From the moment I arrived I was greeted warmly. My room was very large and comfortable with a modern decor. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet. The room included all the amenities that you would need, even a microwave.
Gunnedah Lodge provided the country feel you would expect, with all modern conveniences and a very reasonable rate. I will definitely be staying there again.
Thanks Gary and Anne

A large well appointed main room, wireless and USB charging, Free Wi-Fi, comfy beds. The bathroom is huge, well laid out and spotlessly clean. Minimal traffic noise yet still within walking distance of the town centre. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Lovely comfortable room, friendly & helpful staff. The only problem was the workers smoking directly outside the rooms, both quite late at night & early in the mornings, with the smoke drifting under our door. Other than that, a great place to stay.

The rooms are clean and well appointed with plenty of room. The addition of a sofa really makes a difference as you have somewhere to sit rather than on the bed.
The only thing I found is that it is situated on a major bypass where the trucks go instead of through town and can be a little noisy if you are near the front.
