The Mackellar Motel is located in the heart of the Gunnedah CBD, directly across the road from the Gunnedah Services and Bowling Club and close to a number of restaurants. The Mackellar Motel is situated on the Main Street at the edge of the CBD. They provide a free continental breakfast and a cooked breakfast for an extra charge. For evening meals you have the RSL opposite and the Courthouse Hotel about 100 metres away. Both establishments serve great meals. The rooms are large and have a stocked fridge and a dining table and chairs. The bathrooms are spacious. I highly recommend this motel as the place to stay when in Gunnedah.

A great stop for a family of three on our journey home. Husband has stayed before for work, and was an easy choice for the family. The motel is located on the main street (not the bypass) at the eastern end of town. With large rooms and a huge bathroom, there was plenty of space for the three of us. An easy walk into town for a variety of dinner options. Room come with a minibars sink and microwave. The breakfast menu includes a complimentary continental spread with extras such as eggs and bacon for an additional cost that was easily within our budget and very well cooked by the owners. Barista coffee in a huge mug made the final stage of our journey easier. Whether it is business or pleasure, amenities and services are excellent.

I have only just checked in, but am amazed by the service and the motel.
This is my new motel for my trips the Gunnedah.
Front desk was more than helpful, the rooms are large, fresh and comfortable bed.
Offers chargeback to local restaurants and the club over the road & also inclusive of breakfast in the morning.
Great pressure in the shower.
Cant fault this motel and also its a great price.
I recommend this motel for anyone looking for a better motel in Gunnedah

We all loved our three night stay at the McKellar in Gunnedah. Being able to bring our dog was absolutely fantastic for starters. The position of the hotel was perfect- we could easily walk to the shops & restaurants in Conadilly St. We stayed in a family room & it was spotless. The bathroom was enormous & the air conditioning worked perfectly. Having a free breakfast delivered to the room was a wonderful bonus too. The room has a great selection of cold drinks & snacks that are in an upright fridge. The hotel has a restaurant which comes highly recommended. We didn’t try it however due to time constraints. If you happen to be attending a wedding in St Joseph’s, this hotel is literally next door. The staff were all super friendly & helpful. I would definitely choose to stay here again!

As regular visitors to Gunnedah we have stayed at most of the motels but this was a first time at the Mackellar and we were impressed. Very comfortable rooms, tastefully furnished and decorated, quiet location. Great service at reception. A little more expensive than most places in Gunnedah but a continental breakfast is included and the place was booked out by 1.30 p.m. Topped off by an excellent restaurant - Maverick. First choice next visit.

Terrific stay. Very neat and clean. Quiet setting and great location walking distance to all amenities. Directly across the road is Club Gunnedah which provides magnificent meals which are reasonably priced. Would recommend the Motel to anyone.

I was so pleased that I decided to stay here. The deciding factor was that they had a Tesla Supercharger but the motel had so much more. The staff were very helpful. The room was spotless with a fully stocked fridge of beer, wine, chocolate etc. A continental breakfast was supplied which was delicious. I would certainly stay here again.

Extremely clean, spacious and modern rooms. Complimentary continental brekky in lovely breakfast room and/or good selection of hot brekky choices at reasonable prices. Great location. Club Gunnedah across the road and other dinner options a short stroll. Friendly hosts.

What a great choice we made. The room was very large as was the bathroom which even had a built in night light with a dimmer. The reception staff were super friendly and the location was excellent. Easy walk to restaurants and town. The included continental breakfast was much better than most. Not only was it included in the tariff and delivered to our room the night before, it also had an excellent choice of juices, cereals and even the bread for toasting included sourdough and fruit bread.
Can definitely recommend this motel.
