Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have been staying at the Goldfields Motor Inn for many years and have always been impressed by this Motel. Clean tidy rooms with the best inclusions of any accommodation we have had. Comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen with all the extras the traveler needs. Most of all we have appreciated the well set up accessible bathroom suite which is needed because of my wife's mobility issues. Colin and his team have now added to an almost unbeatable stay with the addition of two new fully accessible rooms that have all the great features of the older rooms and more. Don't go past this motel, great place to stay and great value. Thanks Colin and crew.

Thanks to Col and Glenys Bailey and staff for providing a lovely, clean, private, comfy, secure and well-stocked and furnished little unit at a very reasonable price of $130 per night with some staples such as bread, butter, spreads, tea and coffee thrown in. The facilities would also allow you to cook almost anything for your self. It was great that dogs are welcome at no extra price and that they know not to open your door so your puppy doesn't get away while you're out enjoying the history and hospitality of Gulgong, where I spent much of my youth. We were there for the Henry Lawson Festival and it was great to have such a beaut place to retreat to between events and visits to historical displays. Everyone who wants to learn more about our white colonial history should do themselves a favour and stay here long enough to see all the fascinating museums in this very hospitable town.

MY wife and I stayed here last night in the new part. It was one of the nicest country motels we have stayed at. The reason was it was clean the.bed was very comfortable watch an electric blanket. Large tv.self contained kitchen huge shower plenty of towels even had a heater in the bathroom . Eve though it was the disabled room it was huge the owners couldn’t do enough for us not to forget it’s off the main road and very quiet
Thank u so much

The reviews for this motel are a bit misleading. On the positive side the rooms are clean, tidy and large, although a bit dated. They provide bread, butter and jam, and they have kitchenettes, with basic utensils for cooking, and reasonably priced beer, soft drink and juice in the fridge. On the negative, the bathroom window did not lock, the grounds and surrounds were very untidy and unkept with piles of bricks, and containers of bottles and rubbish around, and what looked to be some old cars in residence.

Unfortunately we failed to book accommodation in Mudgee, and ended up here after Andrew at the Winning Post Motel rang around for us, and this was all that was available. Driving in, we were horrified by the junk and old car by reception. The lobby was no better. It was a very casual check-in, absolutely no covid signs or rules etc. The area outside our room had all sorts of crap lying around. Not welcoming at all. However, the room was spotless. Lots of towels, shampoo etc. Unfortunately the hair dryer didn't work. Breakfast was included..toast and a generous assortment of spreads, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Under normal circumstances, we would never stay at a motel like this. We're not snobs, but everyone has standards. If they cleaned up the grounds, it would improve it immensely and create a better first impression

Big spacious rooms and super comfy beds. The owner is lovely and wants to make you feel at home very welcoming. The motel is a bit dated but has everything you need for a comfy stay. Large kitchen with all the essentials and a great bar fridge selection with good prices. Cheap beer. Clean and comfy.

Stayed in new room. Spacious, aircon, table and chairs, beds and stink, stove, microwave, and full size fridge. Clean and neat. Wheelchair access and Acceptability bathroom. Great for a family stay to visit the region.
Looked unloved from the road at the end of town, but is being slowing renovated with work on the driveway. In reception, call the number on the sign to speak with Col

Just spent the weekend in Gulgong for a friend's sons 18th birthday, and stayed at Goldfields Motor Inn. It was immaculate, spacious, comfortable, quiet and homey. It is full of old country charm, and air-conditioned. Hosts were friendly and welcoming, and everything I imagined country hospitality to be. We forgot to put our breakfast orders in, so I can't tell you about that, but what I can tell you is the menu was amazing and extremely well priced. There are complimentary condiments in the kitchen, as well as an unbelievably well stocked mini bar with the best prices you will see anywhere! The bathroom was spacious, but if I had to pick one bad thing about the place, it would be the shower is on the small side. But if that's all I can say that is bad, then that's nothing at all! We have already booked our next stay there!

Room Tip: I doubt there is a bad room in the complex. Just ring and speak to the hosts to discuss your needs.
