Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Tasty budget priced meals I had Sausages, mashed spud , peas and gravy. My husband ate grilled chicken breast , salad and chips. The place was busy , mainly with men, who look like fly in , fly out workers. Our meals came out to us quickly. We were happy with the quality. Drinks are also reasonable prices.

Very cold day in June, dining room was freezing. Venue had a fire but not lit. All diners ate in large winter jackets sitting inside. Food was average. Ordered our food options, to watch the food sit on the counter for at least 10mins whilst they prepared the final meal (which was not hot) then our beeper rang. Hot chips were cold and oily on arrival we ordered arancini for light lunch. Extremely over fried and not drained, the burnt oil taste was overwhelming. The filling was dry and tasteless. Disappointed with the dish. Lovely courtyard and bar. Filled with locals on a Friday afternoon. Bar staff are up for a chat with the local patrons though, so expect a delay in service at the bar. Appears to be a great pub for locals.

We arrived in Gulgong at 7.30pm, the Centennial was across the road so we popped in to sr what was on the menu. The prices were great so I wondered about the size of the meals, I saw a few plates going back to the kitchen with food still on them. The food arrived, having my hands full a lovely young lady from the kitchen bought the plates to my table. I've added a photo of the food we got -$45 worth, and it was delicious. We couldn't eat it all. Hubby bought the beers and commented on how lovely the staff were, he was impressed by how keen the staff were to work.

Girl in bar lovely lunch very average. Lamb cutlets fatty & deep fried $ 28. Entire plate filed with chips & 2 cutlets on top. Salad ok. Hubby had parmy. Chicken nice potato, pre made & dry. He found piece of plastic (so dangerous if swallowed) & took to food counter. "Sorry" & threw in bin! 😪 Sorry other places to eat next time.

Pizza here was rubbish.. nice pub, good beer garden & old fashioned ammenities. Service in the bar was great. Doesn’t seem to be much experience in the kitchen . Meals at the table came 10 minutes apart. Some had finished before others arrived.

I am staying up in Gulgong for most of February and stumbled across this great little pub about 200 mts down the road from my motel. I am into day 7 and have had dinner at the pub 5 nights out of 7 as the meals are just sensational👍 This is real Country Pub Food and it leaves some of the best on the East Coast for dead😂🙈 I had to write this post tonight as I had the Beef Scotch Fillet cooked rare. After the first mouthful I was wondering when I was going to get to the tough bit, and it didn’t happen, this steak was “ the best” I have ever had. I told the cook a story about when I was in Las Vegas and had a Rib Eye, cooked rare at Gallagher’s in the New York New York Casino and they specialise in Aged meat. $70USD in 2017 and this steak knocked its horns off. I thought the Lamb Cutlets were good here, but this experience was worth writing about. So if you are coming to Gulgong don’t miss this place as it has a simple menu, but the food is sensational, as is the place itself and the cold beers. Don’t miss a feed here👍

Worst burger ever, cold chips and rude staff. I'm pretty sure the burger patty was not house made. No flavour whatsoever. We were the third table to order and the chips were stone cold. Never again!!!

Had dinner after a day exploring the history of Gulgong. Without a doubt one of the best steaks I’ve ever had and wife’s lamb cutlets equally as good. Excellent value for money pub food. Venue is full of local history and has the same ambiance. Highly recommended.

The 4 of us had lunch there 1st week of March and really enjoyed the meals. They were tasty and very generously portioned. Beer was cold and it was very pleasant sitting out in the beer garden. We could have settled in for the afternoon.
