Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What an amazing place to stay! The name of the retreat says it all, the views were breathtaking from orange sunrises to magnificent sunsets. The new owners Angela and Michael were so lovely and accomodating. The surrounding area has so much to offer, wineries, Japanese Gardens and Balloon rides. The serenity of our well appointed stone cabin was just what we needed to recharge. Highly recommend Everview Retreat.

I booked this accomodation, through Booking.com for myself and wife for what I hoped would be a nice couple of days relaxation whilst taking in some local highlights. After travelling for 5 hours on arrival in Cowra I stopped and checked my e mails to find that the booking had been cancelled !! Booking.com informed me they have booked us in alternative accomodation, some bog stock rural motel outside Cowra, not quite what I was hoping for. The customer advisor at Booking.com hadn't a clue and the everview.com website is unreachable as is the phone number which comes up as out of service. My assumption is that the proprietor had a bigger group book in (more $) so bumped us. So be warned if you intend to book this place, you could end up in rural NSW late in the day with little or no chance of finding accomodation.

Booked and confirmed 2 nights through booking.com. We travelled five hours through rural NSW with almost no internet for most of the journey. On stopping at Cowra which is about 20mins away from the retreat, we received an email notification that the owners of the Everview had cancelled our booking due to their overbooking! We were bumped down to a local motel which is up for sale didn’t look very nice at all! On speaking to the agent for Booking.com we received no apology as he said we hadn’t answered our phone! Well how could we with no internet. I feel such late notice is unacceptable and overbooking rooms is such poor practice. Will never attempt to go there again. Greedy owners!

Very unusual retreat, gated residence with unusual statues inside. Kyle seems very accommodating initially . The view is amazing, the cabins have just about anything you could need. Very comfortable. The downside is that Kyle likes to get as much money as possible. Charged a zillion dollars for a large group and we were promised all 3 cabins. When we arrive, told we only have 2 cabins . Kyle relents and gives us the 3rd cabin but first his lovely wife had to clean up ???The place is poorly maintained, screen doors all off the rail. Bathroom in cabin 2 was dirty with mould in shower, someone’s old toothpaste dried and stuck to sink. Cobwebs and dead bugs in all door channels. Pool was murky, not clear. No spa as advertised, apparently hit by lightening. No signs there was ever a spa near the pool. Breakfast was loaf of bread , out of date peanut butter, small amount of juice in jug which had mould around top lip . Dishwasher in cabin 1 was full of clean dishes that had a foul smell from sitting in the washer for ? How long. No housekeeping done while we were there ie fresh pool towels. Not happy that we asked for more. Tried to add more costs when he thought xtra people were coming in. All people already booked and paid ridiculous price. BBQ was not ready to go, needed help to get it ready. Poor value for money. Never made to feel welcome, Kyle watching from higher up all the time checking what we were up to. Creepy .

I think this woman Ruth has a screw loose and poor parenting skills Very sad when people find fault and when they complain about everything I advised the guests to keep the doors shut to keep the bugs out they left every door open and every light on they burned a big mark in the table by placing a mozzie coil directly on the wood. these guests booked for 15(two cottages) and i gave them $600 of free accommodation (Bliss cottage) The problem with this review is simple i told this woman to reign in her son who was out of control running around like a rat throwing stones at the alpacas .I gave them fresh continental breakfast provisions and everything was spotless as always. 20 pool towels were provided for the salt pool .They paid the tripadvisor rate as advertised for 15 guests ( for 2 cottages) Very sad when people say they had a wonderful time and shake your hand then stab you in the back because you didn't jump when they ask .shame on them. I had to ask this guest 7 times to provide credit card details for surety. They brought there own alcohol even though they were advised repeatedly that Everview was a licensed premises. i have included recent reviews "I have travelled the world and Everview Retreat is without peer" John Crooks 2017 "An absolutely gorgeous place. Everything was perfect! And I'm 'GETTING MARRIED'! My beautiful boyfriend proposed to me here last night!!! We will be sure to come back soon. Perhaps for the honeymoon." Maureen and Baydon, Aug 2018 "We love Everview Retreat. The stone and high ceilings and timber, the incredible view as the sun goes down the peace and tranquility, the food platters - fantastic.." Al and Kate, Dec 19 2017 "We had an amazing time in this beautiful cottage... Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us" Tony & Jenny Dapto, March 18

Once you get to the retreat on the hill looking over the rich farm lands, you are transformed by the facilities which leave nothing to the imagination. The "Bliss" stone cottage had everything and is a credit to the owner. Kyle is a wealth of knowledge and has made this place into such an interesting stay.

We have just enjoyed two nights in an amazing location. Built on a hill between Canowindra and Cowra, this retreat has it all. Three separate hand built stone cottages offer luxury accommodation for 1, 2 or 3 couples and each offers comfort, privacy and incredible views to the surrounding countryside. The owner Kyle was extremely helpful in making our stay totally enjoyable. We were so impressed, we have booked to return later this year with four friends. This place is a truly peaceful retreat and a real gem.

We spent 2 nights in the Bliss Cottage which was divine. Great spacious cottage with magnificent views off the private balcony. Cottage had all the mod cons and a well equipped kitchen! The retreat has an awesome pool and hot tub as well as a games room and the wedding venue and chapel is near completion so would be a fantastic location for a wedding! Kyle the owner is really interesting and helpful and you couldn't meet a nicer guy. It is really impressive that he has done all the work himself and to a high spec. We can highly recommend this place and will return.
