Set on lush, beautiful grounds the villas are nestled within the foliage which keeps them quite private. The room was clean. Accommodation was decently appointed with toiletries, kettle, Nespresso style m/c, tea, coffee, milk and water in the fridge, sufficient bath towels, iron/ironing board and fluffy, warm bathrobes. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were a bit sparse with just one normal size pillow each and a large square pillow each. I asked for additional pillows which was not a problem. Sufficient heating with a lovely gas log, flame-look fire, and dual air conditioner. The lounge area was nice but the double lounge was a little tired-looking and the seat cushions were a bit flat. The outdoor terrace was lovely for a coffee with the morning sun shining through the trees. Could do with a bit of a refresh with the carpets cleaned and a repaint both inside and out, also suggest moving the mini fridge from the random spot on the floor to on top of a bench or in a cupboard. Parking was just outside villas with easy access to villas. Suggest putting parking lines or guides as people did not park efficiently which resulted in all parking filling up and when we returned later in the evening we had to park down the road a little way. Staff were amazing, shout out to Matild who was extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was a little basic for the price but OK. Overall we had a lovely stay and loved seeing the ducks and their ducklings wondering around the property.

We were so impressed with our stay from start to finish. We were given an earlier check in on request and staying in a loft room was just perfect. The room was very spacious with a comfortable area to sit and relax in front of a lovely gas fireplace. The bathroom is also a great size with a large walk in shower.
The bed was also large and very comfortable and cosy.
Parklands is set on a lovely estate with a quaint reception area and a communal lounge area and a fireplace. This is also where breakfast is served. Breakfast was very fresh and tasty with a good selection of hot and cold foods. The service was excellent and we enjoyed sitting in a sunny spot with a view of the gardens.
Our stay was just the perfect getaway we were hoping for, relaxing, whisper quiet and fabulous accommodation.
We also enjoyed the location as we were very close to all the shops, cafes and restaurants and lookouts in town.
Thank you for such a wonderful stay. We highly recommend and look forward to returning in the near future.

My husband and I stayed one night (a Saturday) at end Feb 22. We stayed in a loft room. The room itself was lovely, gas fireplace and comfy bed, although I wish a firm pillow option was offered as I am not a fan of the standard pillows nearly all hotels have which just seem to squish to nothing once you put your head on them.
The room had tea and coffee facilities (it was not the 'self-contained' room), a small bar fridge, and a bathroom with a big shower with really good pressure and fancy shower head with different options. The room was quiet, I couldn't hear any noise from surrounding rooms.
The room had little doors that opened on to a Juliette balcony looking out onto a little grassed courtyard and trees, it was quite pleasant.
Parking was free but a bit of a first in best dressed situation, we managed to squeeze into a spot, the parks were not clearly parked so I can imagine if the resort was full, and some people parked with a little extra space between them and the next, the main carpark area might run out of space, but there was other space outside that section for parking.
The room also had an aircon which was good as the room did get a bit warm for us and this cooled it down fine.
The resort gardens were lovely, we took a little walk to the lake, should have put my hiking shoes on as it was a bit soft after the rain and lots of duck poop everywhere.
Breakfast room was lovely, very old school charm. Breakfast itself was a standard buffet with fruit, breads, scrambled eggs, some hot veggies and cheeses, and they did offer option for chef to cook eggs for you to put on toast etc. Although the scale of the buffet was small, i.e. a small room where were only letting 4ppl in at a time, and any more would have been a squash anyway. Breakfast did include a barrister coffee which was great.
Main downside for many might be the fact the rooms had wifi but in any practical sense for watching any streaming or doing much it was way too slow, we just hot spotted from our phones, but even then signal was weak. It was only one night for us so wasn't a deal breaker.

Travelling with young children in a garden suite and WIFI is restricted to make you pay for usage. The signal is weak. Even in independent cafes WiFi is free but this supposed 4 star hotel charges. Just be mindful of this before booking.

Gardens and dining area are well appointed but rooms feel a bit generic, lacking in character.

We were disappointed with the customer service of Matilde and her staff. Felt they wanted to be elsewhere and essentially adopted a “computer says no” approach when asked basic questions.

Better to stay in local air bnb’s

We stayed in a loft room and found it clean warm and roomy. Comfortable bed and relaxing decor. We missed the complimentary bottles of water, which in covid times is safer than using the glasses/cups?
I did ask if the rooms were allowed to 'rest' between occupants ie 24 hours. This is not done but has been discussed.

The cut rate through Luxury Escapes means that all the rooms are in use most nights. The car park was full on a Tuesday night!
This does result in problems at breakfast. You cannot serve your self. The staff puts the food on the plate and you carry it away to your table some distance away in a cool gazebo away from the warmth. Cold hot food yuck! Bring back a menu and the table service!
This is not the fault of the staff who work very hard and are an asset.

We stayed for 4 nights, in a Garden Suite. The grounds, dining area and views are beautiful.
The reason for the low score is the cleanliness.
Carpet needed vacuuming, fridge had a bad smell, the bathroom - black mould in the grouting, chips out of the paint on the doors and stains, grouting missing on the left hand side of the mirror etc.
The next day we had a snail in living room (we put back outside), very evident snail trails left on the carpet which we assumed would be taken care of by the cleaning staff. Unfortunately, when we got back to our room late that afternoon, not only were the trails still there but the carpets were once again not vacuumed properly, with dead flies and the same piece of paper from when we arrived still on the floor!
This paled in comparison to when we had to take the bed sheet off to dry it as we had spilt some water on it. Under the sheet was a tied on mattress topper which is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen - the stains were too numerous to count, the hair, the marks etc etc. This was not only disgusting it was also a health hazard.
The Manager, Marcus, was most apologetic, had a new mattress topper placed on the bed and offered us a free breakfast. My feeling is that this should never have happened in the first place.
Should we not expect a certain standard of care from the hotels we choose to spend our hard earned money with. If this can happen at a trip advisor 4.5 star rated hotel then how are we to trust any rating system.

For the price I expected more. The experience wasn't bad but I don't think Parklands represented good value for money.
On the upside the suite (we had a Garden Suite) was spacious and comfortably furnished. The underfloor heating in the bathroom and the gas log fire made it very cosy on a chilly winter's day. The breakfast would normally be buffet style but in these Covid times the buffet selection was served by waitstaff. There were plenty of staff and the service was brisk and friendly. The buffet selection was nice but nothing outstanding.
On the downside, I had formed the impression that Parklands enjoyed a garden setting and was expecting more. It had a water feature surrounded by some scrappy buxus and lavender just outside the lounge/breakfast room which sat beyond a very sad looking lawn. This overlooked a large pond or small lake which was quite pretty, but that was it. The rest of the block, which is considerable in size could best be described as a paddock. There were some new plantings which in time should mature into pleasant groves of trees but that is some way off and, being midwinter these looked a little sad.
Our 'Garden Suite' didn't offer anything in the way of a garden setting either.
I was very frustrated to lose the 'free' internet with 10 minutes to go of a live sports fixture that I had got up early to watch! OK, live streaming a football game might pull some download but at nearly $500 for the night I wouldn't have expected a limit. And lastly we saw some other guests brushed off at their query if there was anything to eat, at about lunchtime. I understand that Parklands offers breakfast and not dinner but for somewhere that pitches itself as somewhat exclusive, and charges accordingly I would think that they should be able to rustle up a sandwich for a guest.
Or at the very least train their staff to manage such an enquiry with a little more grace. It did occur to me that there didn't appear to be any room service at Parklands, or at least none was offered.
Parklands is located a short walk from the village of Blackheath and by virtue of its spacious grounds it is private and peaceful.
Overall? Nice, but only nice, not more.

Thank you Papa for coming to stay but also for taking the time to provide your thoughtful feedback. We will pass these on to our team regarding their communication regarding what we currently have available in the way of options. We do love our garden, and do agree it is best seen in the light of spring and summer - even Autumn with the leaves changing colours. We are sorry that it didnt' quite meet your expectations but we would love to welcome you back.

My son had his wedding here just over a week ago which had been rescheduled 3 times due to covid he ended up having it on a Thursday ( no cheaper) on the night the staff kept clearing drinks that were still full and meals that had not been finished. Even the wedding cake which the brides mother made , many guests didn’t get any as no sooner served it was cleared away. The events planner was a no show why she even gets paid is beyond me! At their half hour appointment prior to the wedding she spent 15 mins of that time on her phone. So unprofessional!! My son and his bride spent a fortune on their wedding day and guests hardly got to eat and the drinks tab went so quickly due to the staff constantly clearing just to get ready for their next wedding! It’s disgusting and I would not ever recommend them to anyone.

The glow has definitely gone from this place. Either it has changed hands or the owners couldn't keep up the original service levels. No breakfast service (despite being listed in the visitor's guide), no housekeeping during a stay and short office hours for reception. We used to love coming here but may now have to reconsider our options.
PS: there was no plug for the bathroom sink, and the driveway in/out needs work - someone's going to damage their car one day.

We stayed at Parklands on a Luxury Escapes package and enjoyed our stay. Our accommodation was spacious, with separate bedroom and sitting room with an effective gas fire and opening onto a pleasant terrace and a nice bathroom, but we felt the large sitting room was under furnished and lacked cosiness. The gardens are delightful and our room looked out onto a range of well trimmed plants resplendent with new spring growth. Breakfast was a buffet with a reasonable range of choices and the waiting staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Yes it is with an option to eat nearby at the Hydro Majestic.

Yes, it's possible. There is a flat footpath all the way to the shops and restaurants and I did it every day rather than be lazy and jumping into my car. Probably takes 10-15 mins, depending on your fitness. It's a wonderful place for a few days and you will love it.
