This place is DELIGHTFUL! Wonderful location on the lake, with warm, clean but rustic accommodation and lovely, friendly hosts. I stayed here following a work function on site - I had a double room on the end of the building. The room has just a bed - but that's all you really need. The bathrooms are shared and outside, so maybe take a pair of thongs - but overall, the ambience and serenity overtake any minor inconvenience. Hosts Diane and Iain are so friendly and Diane is an amazing cook - breakfast was delivered to the dining room, hot and tasty and exceptionally delicious. This is a place to switch off and relax - no TV, just the birds (lots of pelicans), the roos and the breeze.
What a wonderful location and tranquil spot. If you are looking for a overnight or caravan park away in the Bush then this is a must do. The homestead is beautiful and birdlife on the lake is a twitchers delight
WE found Lake Paika with WikiCamps, about 17 kms north of Balranald. Stayed there for one night on our trip home from Queensland to Keith In SA in our Motorhome. Would like to return again for a longer stay.. Well set out, great facilities and relaxing. Great history of the area and property put to together by host Dianne. Can fly into airport and they organise pickups. Would be good to have an airstrip at the sight for fly-ins.
An amazing location and Di and Ian very welcoming hosts. Parked the van with lake views. Spacious and clean shower and toilet block. Amazing sunset. Kids loved exploring the lake shore and around the station for the bits of history. Stayed two nights as a base to explore mungo NP.
Recently stayed four nights at Paika Station with eight friends. What a wonderful experience. Made ourselves right at home in the country kitchen and enjoyed an open fire in the living area each night. Beds were comfy and warm. Sunsets over the lake were delightful.
