My wife and I spent the night in a carriage last week at the Old Station. We were booked in by our adult kids as part of our Golden Wedding celebrations. The whole experience was wonderful from the courtesy of the staff to the excellence of the converted carriage which was absolutely spotless. We loved the afternoon tea and the...

We were given this experience as a present, and it was absolutely great. We had afternoon tea when we got there, served in the restored waiting room - trust me, you've never seen a railway waiting room so stylish. We found the service very friendly, and the accommodation excellent, warm, comfortable and, well, quirky. But you don't have to be...

What a lovely unique place to take your afternoon tea. So rich with history, it's a truly fascinating location. Beautifully restored and maintained with an open fireplace, comfy lounge chairs, plenty of interesting reading material, we ended staying all afternoon sat in front of the fire, reading about the history of the railways. We were made to feel very welcome,...

Sunday tea for some of the family,4 adults 2 children. Waiting room where the tables are set up is very appealing with open log fire and leather armchairs for after meal reading. Unfortunately there was only one person serving and making the tea,but she did a very sterling job to provide an acceptable service. Cream teas, scones etc were good the...

We stayed here for a night in February 2017 after winning an overnight stay in a charity raffle. Even before we arrived the reception staff were more than helpful by allowing us to stay on a Friday when the prize was actually for a midweek stay. It's a hidden gem. A totally unique way of spending some time away from...

This was a surprise present. We stayed in a renovated 100 year old Pullman carriage-2 rooms per coach- with breakfast in the waiting room. On arrival tea in a leather chair by the fire. Accomadation with bath and shower, good linen, shutters and peaceful rural setting. Breakfast excellent. Highly recommended both as somewhere different but excellent even if you don't...

We went for my husband's birthday and it was fabulous. The old station building has been done up very well with reception being the old ticket office. The waiting room is now a lunge/breakfast room with wonderful leather sofas, an open fire, papers/books/magazines to read. There are also 2 bedrooms in the station building. On arrival you get tea or...

Stayed two nights in one of the 4 Pullman coaches on site (rooms also available in the station building). The old waiting room/booking hall is used for serving breakfast and as lounge with an open fire. Was impressed that our waitress remembered our order from the previous day on our second morning
