My husband and I went for a relaxing 2 days break to The Hickstead Hotel. When we arrived we were very welcomed and remembered from previous stays. The hotel room was lovely - it was large and clean. The food - we were welcomed by Debbie each morning who looked after us so well and like all the staff couldn't...

close to Gatwick (so an option for early flights), close to Brighton and A23, so very convenient for travelling around the area. Of course you need your own car. Hotel itself was very clean, good sized rooms, we only ate breakfast here but that was very good and a reasonable price. Room price was also very good. Staff very helpful,...

We attended a wedding at the Hickstead and arrived midday (2 hours prior to check in) reception staff very accommodating and gave us rooms that had been cleaned so we could get luggage away prior to service. This is a 3* hotel and you get no more/less than expect, rooms are tired but comfortable - two things which would improve...

You feel you are in the middle of nowhere when you go to this countryside hotel. Very nice to sit outside and have a drink surrounded by beautiful fields. A walk before dinner is very nice. Going inside it the interior decoration is what you would expect and the rooms are spacy. But is it clean? The seats of the...

Visited today for an afternoon tea that was bought for us as a gift earlier this year. Front of house staff very friendly but hotel/restaurant looked quite tired. Tea and food very average: no choice of tea (and we'd expect proper tea not tea bags), no clotted cream (this should be a given, right?!) although scone freshly cooked and very...

Thank you for your feedback and apologies that you did not enjoy it . We make everything fresh on site and generally get good feedback but I accept your comments . You should indeed have been offered a range of teas and clotted cream things we do all the time , so I will look into this Kind Regards Giles...

The reason.............. you would only be here because your on the way to or from somewhere else. The facilities are OK but as has been remarked it is in need of some refurbishment in the rooms. The dinning room is fine and serviceable. The meals were ok for the traveller but not a place to experience a culinary adventure. Staff...

We had to attend a funeral in Brighton, and on the advice of a cousin booked here. It is located off the busy A23 but sufficiently far away not to be affected by traffic noise. The reception and restaurant are located in what looked like the old building with rooms in a newer block built on. The rooms are modern...

Stayed here at this nice quiet hotel many times and always had an almost identical and satisfactory experience. Plenty of car parking. Nice staff led by highly experienced manager, who always tries his best to make every guest happy and has an ability to choose some excellent staff for his team...every one of them seems to be nice. The bar...

My friend and I had afternoon tea yesterday and were rather disappointed. Firstly the tea I had was an excellent pot and my friends coffee was equally good. We started off our afternoon tea with sandwiches which were ok but not exciting. We were given 9 fingers of sandwiches, an odd number for 2 people, which consisted of 3 each...
