I expected an average experience based on some of the reviews, but was quite pleasantly surprise! The building is an old mansion that has been a hotel for over 100 years. The room was cavernous, with couches, tables, arched windows, etc. The food was awesome and reasonable. Had both dinner and breakfast there. Totally awesome experience!

I booked the hotel and spa for my mum and her sister for one night. They both loved the place and stated how clean and gorgeous the hotel and the rooms looked. They enjoyed a good breakfast and had a wonderful experience having a facial and body massage at the spa. Overall they loved every bit.

I wasn't happy with a few things when I got there but once I spoke to reception, I think Nicole is her name she was just amazing and got things sorted for us couldn't of thanked her enough. So thank you, especially being pregnant your hormones are all over the place but she really was amazing. And just made everything... More

We stayed here this weekend for a 1 night spa break. Room was a bit small but clean and comfortable which is more important in my book! The girls in the spa were lovely and welcoming. The sun bed situation around the pool was carnage, people claiming a bed and not going back to them. It's a real shame they... More

Thank you for your review. I was pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay. We will review the policy in terms of the pool loungers as I don't feel it is appropriate that they are reserved for periods of time. I do hope that we will have an opportunity to welcome you back soon. Regards, Stephen Allison, General Manager. More

We took our daughter with us for a family 1 night spa treat. The staff were very good. We would have like to be told about the family spa times at check in but besides that everything was very friendly and professional.

Lovely hotel, very attentive staff and great food. The drinks and snack menu is slightly overpriced with hot choc - for example - priced at £4.55. The spa is peaceful, lovely pool, sauna and steam, however only about eight beds for the whole hotel and people tend to 'secure' a bed with a towel and then go off. Could do... More

Thank you for your kind review and comments regarding the food and staff. With regards to the pool side loungers, we cannot physically fit any more due to the width of the pool side and meeting H & S regulations. My apologies if this was an inconvenience to you. I hope that we can look forward to welcoming you back soon.... More

This was a great place for a restful break. We stayed in a four poster room in the main hotel because so often the modern annexes of these places are very disappointing. It didnt cost much more and was VERY worth it. Spa is good, nice size gym and polite staff. Reception staff were very helpful, breakfast order in room... More

We stayed at this hotel for New Year's Eve and were quite disappointed. The bar area is very small and there were not enough staff on for the occasion.
