We came here for my mum's 60th birthday. There was a large group of us, and nearly all had the carvery. The food was outstanding and the staff were lovely, very helpful. Would definitely recommend it for an occasion.

Following advice from staff, we booked actable for 8 adults for Sunday lunch a couple of days in advance. We arrived at lunch time quite early and the hotel was already busy, even on a cold damp January day. There was a power cut in the village and the staff were doing a great job keeping everyone updated about food...

Booked carvery lunch today. After a lovely walk around the lake we landed at the hotel looking forward to a small beer and roast lunch. Unfortunately there happened to be a power cut as we arrived. Luckily we had cash as cash register not working so had to suffer drinking quite a few beers before the staff were able to...

Visited on a Thursday night in January. Originally only 40 guests, but ended up bringing 60 friends for our annual church meal. We wanted a separate dining area, which proved to be no problem and upon our number of expected guests being increased we were able to use the ballroom at no extra cost. The staff were very personable and...

On arrival I asked if we could have a birthday cake I had made and the female staff on the carvery said it was fine. I put a balloon on...

We haven't called into the Rudyard Hotel for some time so when we had a lovely walk around the lake and called in for lunch yesterday we had a very pleasant surprise. They've had a make over which gives it a very fresh feel, the selection of beers was good and the quality of lunch was excellent value, the staff...

Visited on Christmas Day with a party of five and were looking forward to an enjoyable meal. We arrived for our 1.30 booking and the place was already in chaos, everywhere was packed and no one appeared to be in charge of seating guests. I found a member of staff who confirmed that our party was booked in the ballroom...

My partner arranged for six of us to have Christmas Dinner at the Rudyard. We sent in our chosen menu weeks before Christmas. We booked for quarter past two. On arrival at two o'clock the place was packed, no one bothered to greet us and ask who we were, At 2.15 we were concerned that still no one had spoken...
