As an essential business traveller, I have had to stay away in Burton on Trent a few times in December. The Three Queens has enough space to allow the closest to normality in these challenging times for hospitality. The friendly manager Malcolm, made additional efforts to accommodate our needs that other hotels were unable to accommodate whilst maintaining social distancing and following all guidelines and legislation. The local restaurants are open for takeaways - breakfast lunch & dinner- and the nearby Aldi has an excellent choice of drinks which I was, fortunately, able to consume at the hotel. Car Parking is good and overseen directly by the reception. I enjoyed my stay and will be back in future. I would recommend this hotel to anyone on business who wants a proper restaurant meal in comfortable surroundings after a hard days work, and does not want to eat out of a supermarket.…
The hotel was much improved from my last visit. The welcome was efficient and professional, if a little abrupt. Room one was excellent for the money paid, presenting good value for money and all the amentities that you required. Wi-Fi was good, television has limited channels. The room was spotlessly clean and well decorated; the bathroom large and also very clean. All in all a good place to stay for one night
Hot and noisy. The bed had a ripped headboard and peeling wallpaper surround. The room was noisy from the traffic and extremely hot. We closed the bedroom window to make it quieter and opened the bathroom one instead only to find the handle falling apart. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. I was told there was no breakfast facilities due to COVID, fair enough but £50 for a basic room and no breakfast is a big step. We left and 6am just to get away home and have a good sleep.
Frankly awful. The location is good , there is a car park and it's cheap - and that's about it! We booked expecting bed & breakfast, only to find kitchen/bar closed (due to Covid 19) and no food available. Don't be fooled by their website - it is out of date. The whole place is tired. The air conditioning is broken and replaced with a noisy fan in each room. Not exactly hot weather when we visited but the room was like a sauna (we ended up sleeping on top of the bed rather than in it). We had an executive room - small enough to make cat swinging problematic if not impossible. There was a fridge - a noisy standard under counter kitchen variety which obstructed access to the bathroom. The bathroom light comes on automatically - as does the fan which again is noisy and runs for about half an hour. Tired decor, dirty marks everywhere, not much evidence of a decent cleaning regime. Our bathroom ceiling had experienced a water leak above, the ceiling had a nasty brown stain with bits peeling off. There are anti legionalla devices on the taps due to old pipework. The hotel is not being used as a homeless hostel (as mentioned in another review), but the annex next door is apparently. There is a sign on the wall near to the entrance saying Marijuana Smoking Prohibited! Honestly you couldn't make it up. By a country mile, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Avoid.…
Exactly the location we needed and who can complain at the price. Basic facilities, but comfy bed and clean surroundings. The corridors were a little tired, but would definitely stay again if need to be area. Welcome from reception was very warm. No complaints
