Dog friendly. Old fashioned traditional values. Fire is always lit. And always have Bruce Springsteen playing! Definitely worth the walk from Wincanton. Good food full stop. Would recommend the Sunday lunch.

A couple of friends and I had heard good reviews so decided to pay a visit to the unicorn in wincanton, gentleman behind the bar was very polite with a very welcoming approach. We decided to opt for the Friday night special fish and chips with a dessert for ten pounds. This was amazing value, the meal came out presented...

I can't say enough about how great this pub is! We were staying in the area over the Christmas period and went in on Christmas Day where we received a warm welcome and tasted some great cider, recommended to us by the knowledgeable Landlord. He suggested we come back for the trad session a few nights later and I'm glad...

I went up with my family for a meal. We did go very early mid week so it was very quiet. We received a really warm welcome. The menu was fairly small but everything we ordered was really tasty and locally sourced where possible. I felt it was a tad expensive, but the chocolate brownie pudding was massive! A really...

I can't believe we've lived here for 2 years and only just tried it! For a homesick northerner this places was right up my street. Right from the the door openeing the atmosphere was warm and friendly. The lamb chops were beautiful, I think we even bumped into the farmer that supplied them! Everyone was kind and interesting from the...

What a wonderful traditional Old English Pub . We were greeted warmly by a wagging doggy and smiling faces . The pub inside was so beautiful I spent ages gazing at all the interior decor and was told some history of the pub by the really friendly landlord . We tried a number of local ciders and I left with...

After a horrific morning clipping sheep and nearly having my hand cut off.. i was treated to a pub lunch at the Unicorn. It was lovely.. a warm welcome. Food freshly cooked and scrummy. We Stayed for around 2 hrs as we were so busy chatting. I would visit again without a doubt. 5 star.

My husband and I were on our way home from a late meeting and called in on the off chance that they might still be doing food. Jayne had obviously finished cooking but nothing was too much trouble and she served us up two delicious plates of local lamb chops and chips. Generous portions. Unlike the previous reviewer we found...

Went to this pub for dinner on recommendations on Trip Advisor but was rather disappointed. The first two disappointments were the instance dog smell and the fact that they only took cash! Having said that, the food was very good value and cooked well and the selection of ciders was amazing! The landlord was friendly and it was obviously a...

This is a great little country pub renowned for it's amazing selection of award winning ciders - they have won 'Best cider pub of the year' several times and again this year. The food is great too - only available in the evenings except for Sunday lunch and the pub is closed all day on Mondays. If you like 'proper'...
