I only stayed one night for a last minute break by the sea .. it was bitterly cold outside but I couldn't have received a warmer welcome. Caroline is the perfect host - and welcomed me with a cup of tea and homemade lemon drizzle cake. Throughout my visit I felt I was being welcomed to a home rather than... More

Our stay at Mariner's Lodge was an utter delight. The beautiful bedroom with stunning views across the fields to the sea and an incredibly scrumptous bed were sheer heaven. Caroline spoilt us with a totally delicious breakfast with home made jam and feshly baked bread. Who could ask for more. At our request Caroline took us on an unforgetable Exmoor... More

A Mini, a Pole and a German - landed in the summer 2012 in this heavenly place by chance and the decision to depart was a hard one. We were directed to this marvellous place by a friend of the host Caroline, some miles away who was booked up - how lucky were we (!) to get here. It all... More

We returned to Mariners Lodge as we loved it last time. It did not disappoint, we were welcomed back like old friends. We had a really comfortable couple of nights, the breakfast and dinners were delicious. The sun shone for the whole weekend. The location is perfect, views of the sea from the bedroom window and wonderful walks over beautiful... More

From stepping through the door to stepping out to go home you were welcomed in to a lovely home with warmth and kindness. Wet boots from walking were dried out over night and an amazing breakfast to set you up for a day out walking. As my friend and I had not see each other for some time we had... More

The very minute we crossed the threshold of Caroline and Rollo's abode, we knew we were in for a very pleasant stay. The restorative tea with the beautiful lemon cake was only the beginning of our culinary experience at Mariners Lodge - the supper was a pure delight, a 3 course meal composed of a scrumptious terrine, salmon served with... From the welcoming coffee and lemon drizzle cake our stay with Caroline and Rollo was relaxed and pleasureable. The room was beautifully furnished, the bed extremely comfortable and the view over the sea incomparable. Carolines breakfasts and dinner were outstanding and to be recommended. Also her local knowledge and suggestions for our walk were invaluable and added greatly to the... More

I cannot add anything that has not been said already, there are no more superlatives left! Quite the best B&B we have stayed in, and with Caroline's cooking she could give the nearby 'restaurant with rooms' serious competition, and come out on top.Someone once said 'there are no strangers here, just friends you have not met'. That just about sums up... More

From the stunning view, the "welcome" lemon cake, the marsh samphire garnish on the breakfast kippers, to the incredibly comfortable bed, everything was delightful. Caroline is the perfect host, very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and keen to make your stay the best possible. Thank you, Jo and Ian

My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to stay at Mariners Lodge for one night this week - we just wish it was more. We felt so welcomed and comfortable instantly. The room was spacious, well decorated and the bed was the most comfortable I have slept in for a while. The breakfast was beyond our expectations with home made... More
