Just got back from 4 nights at Amberton and wanted to share what a lovely place it is. Wendy is lovely, very welcoming and laid-back. The B&B is set on a hillside rather than on the main road in Porlock, so is quieter and has lovely views, but is only a short walk away from pubs, shops and restaurants. The... More

A beautiful blend of B & B and self-catering. The room is very comfortable with every little thing thought of. Sitting on the deck (which is remarkably sheltered) watching the weather blow up the estuary is both beautiful and relaxing. The setting is so peaceful. The breakfast selection is wide. The croissants and pastries were light and tasty. The home... More

We stayed at Ambleton B&B as we were attending a wedding in Porlock. Wendy the owner was so welcoming and really made us feel at home. The properties 2 rooms both have their own terrace with amazing views. Breakfast was continental but offers an amazing selection with home made bread. The price was also very reasonable and in a beautiful... More

This has to be the best B&B I have ever stayed in. A very personal and friendly service and the it feels like a home from home. Spotless room with very comfortable bed and duvet, a small decking area for each room with a sea view makes it more romantic. The room is almost a small bedsit, with a sink,... More

We enjoyed an excellent 2 nights at Amberton b & b in Porlock. Wendy was a fantastic host, very welcoming and helpful, providing information and maps of the local area for us. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good - including freshly baked bread! We would thoroughly recommend this b & b, and hope... More

We stayed for two nights and Wendy could not have been more friendly and welcoming on our arrival. The room was like a mini-apartment, tastefully decorated with a fresh feel about it. We enjoyed the generous continental breakfast on the balcony overlooking great views out to the sea. It was in a quiet situation but still only a short walk... More

We only booked for a one-night stay which was a pity as it was one of the loveliest b&bs we had ever stayed in. Lovely clean and comfortable room with delightful balcony with sea views, continental breakfast with freshly baked bread in the morning and all the little extras that just made the stay so special. We were made to... More

An excellent bed and breakfast. The rooms are extremely well equipped and spotless. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Although they don't offer cooked breakfast the options and quality of the continental breakfast are extremely good - even the bread is homemade. We would highly recommend this bed and breakfast and hope to return there some day.

Booked this B+B after reading the reviews...did not disappoint. Really clean and friendly. Had a lovely quiet room with a sea view from the balcony. Great way to have breakfast here, so relaxed and with the added bonus of freshly made bread. Great base for some spectacular walks. Wendy makes you feel so welcome and has put in a lot... More
