We stayed for a couple of nights 20/12/20-22/12/20 at Myrtle Cottage, on our way Cornwall for the Christmas Break. Well what can you add about this B & B? Outstanding accommodation; Full English Breakfast, to die for (less if you want); Janet & Nigel, our Hosts made us very welcome. along with our 2 small dogs. Breakfast by a log burner, and lovely and warm and cosy. This is a must stay if you love old buildings - 'duck or grouse,' if you bump your head on the low ceiling. Fabulous character Property. Definitely on our stay list next time we travel down that way.
We have just returned from a two night stay in Myrtle Cottage at the end of our week's holiday in Porlock and what a wonderful end it was. Our room was warm and comfortable and spotlessly clean; with a well stocked tea/coffee tray and biscuits (we were just told to ask for more of anything we needed). Our dog could not have been made more welcome either, with his own bowls, mat and towel provided. We had somewhere to leave wet coats and muddy boots, which was a bonus. The heater was turned on to speed up drying for us. Breakfast was gorgeous! We had the full English, beautifully cooked and sourced locally where possible. We ate in the breakfast room in front of a roaring log burner! Janet and Nigel were the perfect hosts. They were very friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. I had wanted to stay at Myrtle Cottage for a very long time and it did not disappoint. It was our first visit but certainly not our last!…
We booked for a night at Myrtle Cottage during our walk around the SW Coastal Path. It's a lovely quaint cottage, the room was tastefully furnished. En-suite good with a lovely shower. Quality tea/coffee sachets provided in the room. Breakfast was freshly cooked, tasty...not your bog standard greasy fry ups. The hosts were lovely. Definitely recommend! Rare find!
A beautiful cottage, excellent breakfast and excellent value for money. Close to the SWCF. In the centre of the village, excellent pub a few yards away. The room was a good size and the B&B had good covid precautions. Highly recommended
We stayed at Myrtle Cottage and loved it! Janet and Nigel were perfect hosts. The room was comfy and clean. Breakfasts were the best we have had for a long time - great that they used mainly local ingredients . Good for the dog too. Covid regulations were well done. We will be back!
