I normally stay in hotels so a B&B was a new experience for me. Upon my arrival the proprietor assisted me to park my bike by moving his car so I could use his fat space, that was a great first gesture. The accommodation was perfect for my requirements, spacious enough for all my gear, spotlessly clean, comfy bed and a good sized bathroom with a full size bath. The proprietors also catered for my Vegan food requirements providing a plentiful selection at breakfast, nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend Myrtle Cottage as a base to stay.

Well this place is a little gem that's for sure. Janet and Nigel made us feel very welcome and catered for our needs quietly and competently. The place was warm, well presented and very clean and is very well maintained for a 400 year old building. The room was small with low ceilings and doorways but that's what we went there for. The bathroom was more than adequate with piping hot water and basic but fully acceptable shower. Breakfast was out of this world with all the extras you can ask for. We went at the end of November and stayed one night for £75 - with the breakfast. We've been to worse places and have been charged more so this place rocks in every respect. Definitely worth a stay.

My wife & I have just spent 4 nights at Myrtle cottage again while having a break & exploring the area. The walking in the area is excellent & so are the Pubs & local restaurants . Try the Pizzaria. Nigel & Janet are perfect hosts & make you feel very welcome along with their dog Major! The breakfasts are exceptional, the rooms are spotless.
