We returned after 3 years to find Glen Lodge just as beautiful as we remembered. Last time we stayed in the Apple Loft and this time experienced the Grooms Flat. It was equally comfortable and cosy. Despite a wet few days we had a lovely place to come back to after long walks with our dog. Good shower, plenty of hot water, and comfy bed. Outside there was a sheltered deck, which had the weather been better would have been perfect for a peaceful drink. The gardens of the estate are magnificent. Location is perfect if you like to walk, half a mile to Porlock itself or up the valley beside a river to the moor.
Glen Lodge is set in a wonderful location on the edge of the village of Porlock. It is surrounded by trees and gardens with lovely views towards the channel and south Wales. David is a top host and nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic breakfast. The rooms and facilities are spotless with crisp clean bedlinen. This is a good base for touring the area. We shall be back - thank you David
I had the pleasure of staying at Glen Lodge in the company of David who is the owner and a great host. My room was large and had a fantastic view and the breakfast was tasty filling and well presented.
Pleasant, clean, accommodating and friendly, Touch expensive but, hey, no one is perfect. Easy to find in day time but difficult at night; good views and location with plenty of easy parking. Would stay again but good idea to book early to avoid third floor and winding steps for last minute guests.
Simply the best! This was our third visit we came back for mum’s birthday. Lovely breakfast, so welcoming and in an idyllic setting. David makes you feel so at home! We had a roaring log fire and the rooms are individual and cosy. Can’t wait to go again!
