Stayed here over the bank holiday for two days with our two cocker spaniels. Nothing was at fault! The food was excellent! Accommodation lovely, beds so comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, dogs were welcomed, all in all an excellent stay, would not hesitate to recommend this lovely place. We never needed the car as the beach is just down...

Excellent food at this lovely country inn. The garden is lovely with mature plants and trees. Very dog friendly where dogs are made really welcome. I would fully recommend it. A word of caution this is a genuine country pub where the theme is hunting, shooting and fishing. Also there is some parking outside the inn, but a small carpark...

The Hood Arms is very doggy friendly and is a great place to have a weekend getaway with lovely walks along the coast at Kilve Beach. Stayed at this charming little place with three of my friends recently for a wedding. We booked two twin rooms, both of which were very well decorated, clean, spacious and extremely comfortable beds. Staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. Breakfast was delicious. Overall a lovely experience. Highly recommended.

Recently returned from this idyllic country get-away. Stayed in the Stag Lodge which exceeded all expectations with its own sitting room, log burner (plenty of logs!!), wifi connection and a lovely spa bath to relax in after exploring the stunning Quantock Hills. The food is second to none, with a vast selection of daily specials to choose from, (I recommend...

We recently stayed at the pub for a couple of nights and were impressed with both the accommodation and the food. We were travelling with our dog and chose this pub due to their dog friendly policy and have to compliment their approach to pets - they were excellent and made us all feel very welcome. Lovely beer garden and...

We found the room very clean and comfortable with a very comfortable mattress which was not carried through with the pillows they were uncomfortable and flat. unfortunately our stay was completely ruined by the lack of internet connection in our room. As we had planned on visiting friends and with their number in our lap top were unable to retrieve...

After a nice walk on the quantocks we booked a table at this local pub and found a gem. It is not very often that you can find good food and good friendly service in one establishment nowadays. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and shown to our table by friendly staff who obviously enjoyed working there....

We have eaten in the restaurant several times over the years but as we have two dogs are always on the look out for dog friendly places which the bar area is. Booked Sunday Lunch and found the food good although the beef could have been a little less chewy. Our dogs were made welcome although they are still a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hood Arms is a beautifully furnished 17th century inn with orginal oak beams, natural stone walls, and open fireplaces. We are located at the foot of the Quantock hills and just one mile from Kilve's 'moonscape' beach. There are 12 comfortable, fully equipped en suite guest bedrooms which have been rated AA 4 stars. Our restaurant enjoys an excellent reputation far and wide, and guests are able to relax in our cosy bar or, during the summer months, in our large pretty garden. We are aware that we have had some negative comments posted on tripadvisor in recent months. We would like to assure you that the vast majority of our customers are very happy with their stay but we have reviewed these comments seriously and are genuinely working hard to make improvements. Why don't you try it and see for yourself? We guanrantee to do our very best to make your stay an enjoyable one. ... more   less
