After a visit to wimbleball lake for a family morning out we decide to find a place for lunch. Coming across The Anchor Inn which we hadn't visited before. Easy parking across from the Inn which is always useful. Lovely seating area inside and outside which is great when out with children especially when the weather is good. Very friendly,...

Two of us went in for a meal, staff were very friendly, food was delicious. Garden is beautiful. Only criticism was that I'm a vegetarian and there were only two choices on the menu... veggie lasagne or veggie burger. More choices for us veggies please 😀

We drove to this pretty spot by the river for lunch with our car club. We had booked and pre-ordered as there was about 20 of us. The food was served in a timely way, was piping hot, generous and delicious. The staff even brought a bowl of water for (Guide) dog that was with us. Would recommend.

Stayed here on the 2nd March 2017, and had a very warm welcome upon checking in. Room was very nice and clean, and the power shower was fantastic (room 5). Just what the doctor ordered after a stressful day at work. I had a sirloin steak which was perfect. Would recommend this place to anyone. Great staff and a great...

Having phoned the anchor directly to book a room to stay for the night , while on the phone to the lady I stressed I did not want the room next to their extraction system as we stayed in that room on a previous visit and it was noises and stank . Any way when we arrived we were told...

We met up with some friends for lunch, there was a roast on and I went for roast beef which was OK, not the best I have had, but OK. The Yorkshire pud was not up to much but apart from that the meal was OK. We sat near the fire and on a chilly autumn day that was just...

Had an evening of a few drinks and a lovely meal unfortunately the bar closed at 10pm which was a shame. The staff and owners were lovely, so helpful and welcoming. Location is lovely right by the river. We Decided to stay the night. The room was small but clean and had kettle etc. The bed however really needed replacing...

We went to The Anchor Inn after a nice paddle down the River Barle, and what a warm welcome! The huge real fire was going, F1 on the TV up in the corner, tasty pints and a cosy atmosphere, and literally the best scotch egg you could ever imagine that could possibly exist!!!!!!!!! I am not exaggerating the utter mouthwateringly...

We stopped for lunch at this pub and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The staff were pleasant and welcoming the food fresh and well presented and the draught beer pleased my husband. As it was Easter time there was an Easter egg hunt for the children in the grounds and lots of good humour among the families who were visiting.
