Stayed at the Lion Hotel this weekend to meet up with family. Had a lovely room on the first floor - very comfortable bed. I had dinner with my family in the restaurant area and we had a great meal. The desserts made on the premises were absolutely amazing. The hosts, Angela and Ian, were very welcoming and I will...

Nestled in the centre of Dulverton this lovely old hotel is quintessentially English, and a traditional Exmoor hostelry. You feel the welcome as you pass under the portico and into the front door. A blazing log fire and good mood lighting gives a pleasant autumnal feel. A good selection of real ales and national brands of beer will suit all...

Just returned from a four night stay at The Lion Hotel. Thank you to Angela and Ian for making me feel so at 'home'. It was my first time travelling alone with my dog and we had a lovely time. The breakfasts and evening meals were excellent and the staff were very helpful. Couple this with the beautiful Somerset countryside...

We thought that as we could find no mention that dogs were not allowed but decided to ask anyway. So pleased we did as not only was our cockapoo made so welcome but the food was great, huge portions and nothing was too much trouble! Will definitely be back!!!!!!!!

We enjoyed our two day visit to the Lion. Angela and Ian and the rest of the staff go out their way to make you feel at home. Diner and breakfast were both high quality and served with care and attention in comfortable surroundings in a delightful Somerset town.

The owners of the hotel and their staff were most welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. The hotel itself needs a bit of tlc especially the bedrooms. The room we had was spacious but the decor needed updating and the hot water took an age to come through. We had a meal one night and the food and service were...

All the rest of the pubs in Dulverton were fully booked so we went here for a meal. The welcome was friendly and all of the staff were very helpful. There were only a few other diners in the restaurant so there was very little atmosphere to the place. The food was OK but not special. The decor was drab...
