We had spent the day exploring different places on Exmoor and Dulverton was our last stop. We received a warm friendly welcome and really enjoyed our delicious starter and main course. I opted for the homemade rabbit pie which was very tasty indeed. Would had opted for the delicious looking desserts, but just too full. A pleasant place to stop...

It was my first visit to this lovely town with the family and we really couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. The room was spacious and very comfortable and the food really was yummy. The staff were lovely and tipped us off on where to go and what to visit. We had a fun family day out...

The entrance porch had street litter left for 4 days, the bedroom carpet was stained and filthy. The toilet seat was loose and towels poor quality. I asked if they had a hair drier available and after four days still had not been given one. After walking all day we arrived back at the hotel at 4.30pm there was no...

Dulverton is a lovely town, on the edge of Exmoor. I stayed at The Lion Hotel - the hotel was very good value for money & everyone was very helpful & friendly. Super breakfast too. The town has many interesting, independent shops, along with excellent restaurants & cafes.

The Lion is one of my favourite hotels around Exmoor, but this time(New Years Day), it excelled as the meal was absolutely spot on. We both ordered Roast Beef, which arrived deliciously pink in the middle with lightly browned roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The food was well presented and to us was just like mum cooked on a Sunday,...

Stayed at the Lion Hotel this weekend to meet up with family. Had a lovely room on the first floor - very comfortable bed. I had dinner with my family in the restaurant area and we had a great meal. The desserts made on the premises were absolutely amazing. The hosts, Angela and Ian, were very welcoming and I will...

Nestled in the centre of Dulverton this lovely old hotel is quintessentially English, and a traditional Exmoor hostelry. You feel the welcome as you pass under the portico and into the front door. A blazing log fire and good mood lighting gives a pleasant autumnal feel. A good selection of real ales and national brands of beer will suit all...

Just returned from a four night stay at The Lion Hotel. Thank you to Angela and Ian for making me feel so at 'home'. It was my first time travelling alone with my dog and we had a lovely time. The breakfasts and evening meals were excellent and the staff were very helpful. Couple this with the beautiful Somerset countryside...

We thought that as we could find no mention that dogs were not allowed but decided to ask anyway. So pleased we did as not only was our cockapoo made so welcome but the food was great, huge portions and nothing was too much trouble! Will definitely be back!!!!!!!!
