My husband and I went to Pen-y-dyffryn for our valentines meal. We've been meaning to give it a go for a a while now as we only live down the road. It really did live up to expectations. The food was wonderful and the decor was truly beautiful. Out of the three local 'high end' restaurants in the Oswestry area...

We stayed here for two nights in the coach house. The room was lovely and cosy. We had breakfast on two mornings which was delicious and two evening meals which were also wonderful, especially the steak. The staff and the owners were warm and welcoming and the hotel is located in a beautiful area with plenty to do. It was...

This is the third time that we have stayed at the Pen y Dyffryn, and each stay has been excellent. We had taken our dog this time, and had been allocated one of the external 'cabins'. The room was superb, with a patio and a spa bath. The dog was welcome in the hotel bar and lounge, before 6pm, and...

Managed to get a late deal at the Hotel and stayed a Saturday night. A wonderful County Hotel with a very welcoming lounge and real fire! The Terrace room was excellent and very handy for the bar and restaurant! A well stocked bar with locally brewed bottled beers. It is easy to see why the Restaurant has numerous awards! An...

This is the fourth time we have visited this hotel and we are never disappointed. The food in the restaurant is amazing and the breakfast substantial. It is a place to get away and relax. The view from your room is enough to strip away many tensions whether it is summer or as in our latest trip with a dusting...

We visited the Pen-y-Dyffryn for New Year and it was a most enjoyable experience. Miles and Audrey were excellent hosts and the food, as always, was superb. New Year's Eve itself started with a champagne reception and canapés, followed by a leisurely six course dinner with more champagne to see in the New Year. My dog slept through the whole...

This review is a few months old (apologies) but I had to write one. My partner and I tend to have a few weekends away each year and early in 2014, we were on the look out for a cosy retreat with great food and that is exactly what we found. We were so welcomed from the moment we arrived....

Settled in the valleys to the west of Oswestry, this hotel is a wee gem. The food is excellent with the menu changing every day. Very comfortable both for the bedrooms (with fairly high tech bathroom) or the communal rooms. We went in December with roaring fires every afternoon. Catered well for celiacs too.
