Pleasant 17th century coaching Inn with a good sized car park. The hotel has lovely grounds and a terraced area to the rear. Inside the Gaskell Arms benefits from a traditional lay out with separate bar, lounge and dining areas. They offered 3 well kept local cask ales, best range in the town in my opinion. Food was good. Our...

A Family party of 10 visited the Gaskill Arms for a special birthday lunch. The service and food were both excellent. We have eaten here many times as a family group. I can recommend the restaurant as somewhere where you can rely on beautifully cooked food served with a smile.

A group of us (two couples) and dog called in after a rather wet walk that afternoon. The Pub isn't dog friendly, which I don't have an issue with. What I didn't care for was the rude barman who seemed more interested in doing anything rather than serving us. We asked about the possibility of some food, but were told...

I am very sorry to hear that you did not have good service at our establishment and have taken the matter up with the barman concerned . He is normally very attentive and well liked by my customers and therefore surprised to receive this unpleasant review. We are also a 3 star AA rated hotel and restaurant and not a...

Stayed the one night in the Mews accommodation - sitting room, downstairs bathroom and one bedroom upstairs. Clean, comfortable accommodation. Very convenient location for the town (also a useful Nisa just across the road.) Good choice of breakfast with traditional waitress service. Had a pleasant stay.

Stayed for 2 nights, good location short walk into the village and to the Priory. Plenty of free parking. Booked a double room and pleasantly suprised we were given the family room, lovely big room with bay window and the bathroom was huge! Bed comfortable and plenty of complimentary tea, coffe, hot chocolate and biscuits. Breakfast was great with a...

Really pretty room, spacious and clean with a nice bed and well-stocked tea caddy; but our room was over the bar, and it was Saturday night, and the noise was loud and made it impossible to sleep. Full English breakfast lacked beans and mushrooms and the tomato was a bit cold but the sausage was good for a full English....

On a visit to Much Wenlock last week, my partner and I fancied a cream tea. As we walked past the Gaskell Arms, we noticed the display board outside was advertising cream teas amongst others items. So in we went and asked the friendly girl behind the bar if we could place our order. She seemed a bit unsure if...

I stayed here for three nights in January. The price was very reasonable, (£70 per night) so I wasn't expecting great things. But I was wrong. The room was comfortable and pleasantly warm, even though there had been snow. It was also very large, and acceptably furnished. The bathroom was massive - as big as another bedroom. The bed was...

We went to the Gaskell Arms for a weekend away in December. True, it lashed it down all the time we were there but the warm welcome you receive at the Gaskell arms is worth it. We stayed in one of the very spacious rooms. Because of the age of the place, the rooms were a bit higgledy piggledy in...
