had a pleasant stay at the crown many people said don't stay in room 8 and yes we got room 8 but couldn't hear any traffic and it was warm plus the added bonus of birds in the ivy next to the window the evening meal was excellent although the breakfast was a bit basic but as we only paid...

The first half of my review is poor ,we were allocated Room 25 and from previous reviews, this is the one to avoid. The room is overlooking the car park on the first floor of the cottages. The stairway was dirty and smelled strongly of damp and the room itself is only tiny and sparsely furnished and decorated, with a squeaky...

Just returned from a two night stay at The Crown and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. I don't think some of the reviews do the place justice. it's an old building with character not a faceless chain hotel so if that is what you want this is not the place for you. however if you want clean and comfortable rooms...

We just stayed on a Friday and Sat night and had a great time. Our room looked like the picture above, it was warm, comfortable and a good size. The bar was full of friendly locals on Fri night, it had all the atmosphere of a local country pub, with a log fire. The staff were really friendly and welcoming,...

The room was nice and warm and cosy. The bar room was small and snug. The restaurant was welcoming. The food was sumptuous. And to top it all the staff were friendly, and attentive. All in all a hotel I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. Thanks for a delightful stay.

The best thing about this break was the staff. Other hotels should look and learn about politeness and service with that important...

Just had 2 very pleasant nights in this charming hotel. Very friendly polite staff, great food! If i had to find a negative point it would be that the building was rather drafty but then it is an old 16th century coaching inn! The roaring open fires in the bar make it feel cosy!

The main hotel is a fabulously quirky 16th century coaching inn with low beams, real fires, sloping floors and a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. The grounds and car park are large with resident ducks to greet you on arrival. We stayed for three nights, in the extended section of the building, just a few yards from the...
