We booked a 2 night stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary and are so glad we chose this place. The location was very quiet and peaceful and the accommodation was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. We ate both nights in the pub and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Have to particularly commend the lovely young staff couple, Gabriel...

We love this pub. We live in the village and enjoy going for a meal when we can get away from the children! The food is always superb. There is an excellent wine list. One of my favourite dishes on the menu is the wonderful sticky toffee pudding soufflé. All the flavour of a sticky toffee pudding but light and...

This is a little gem of a place. We stayed 2 nights and we honestly can't wait to come back - and it's a long way for us as we live on the other side of the world - New Zealand. From the moment we turned up and the lovely young lady helped us to our room with our very...

We found this place while looking for a stay in Wantage. It is actually 3-4 miles outside of the town center in a very quiet village. The pub is tastefully restored and the accommodations in the renovated barn were excellent, especially in "the Presidential suite." The service was extremely attentive, especially by Gabriel and Sonja, and a young Czech lady....

Such a lovely looking country pub, refurbished in a very attractive style, the rooms are fairly compact but well decorated and very clean and comfortable. The Food at breakfast was amazing, served in the pubs relaxed restaurant. Staff were friendly and the setting was stunning! Would definitely stay again.

I would like to be welcomed on arrival [this isn't a pub, really] - I wasn't, not even a hello. I would like to be offered a drink soon after arrival, and a table, and a menu, and when the menu comes I'd like it to be the correct one.....none of the foregoing happened Apart from that, the food was...

We only stayed the one night as we were at a party in Wantage, so unfortunately we didn't get to sample the restaurant in the evening which the rest of the guests were raving about. The staff were friendly and helpful and the place had a lovely fresh feel throughout with a good garden to enjoy a pint or two....

Arranged to meet friends here. After a long journey we were not disappointed. We all had a superb lunch. The fish dishes were gorgeous . The staff could not have been more helpful. We will be returning in the very near future.
