5 of us stayed for 2 nights last week, very good food and variety. Breakfast cooked to order and very good. The rooms we were in were spacious clean, comfortable and quaint, as suits the age of this majestic building. The bus stops outside the front door if you want to go into Oxford with out taking the car, also...

Went here Xmas day for lunch (3 course meal) and was brilliant! Went back for dinner a few weeks after and again was great! Lovely food and very helpful friendly staff. Would highly recommend! Have already booked for Xmas this year.

Good location in centre of town. Lively bar area. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Our room was very small, tiny bathroom but clean and tidy. One double one single bed. Memory foam mattress. Quaint and kept in tradition of area.

We stopped off on Saturday, after a walk over the white horse hill. We sat with a bottle of wine and decided to stay for dinner, we booked the table there and then without a problem. The food and service was excellent, beef wellington was on of the best I have ever had. If your thinking of dinning here you...

We were invited to join a group for a NYE dinner/dance at The Bear. Every member of staff I chatted to was polite and helpful, from the bar staff to the waiting staff, in fact they added to the party atmosphere. I have to give a special mention to the chef and the kitchen staff for the lovely 5 course...

Stopped off for a couple of nights to see family on the way home from holiday. Unfortunately there is no parking attached and you must use a nearby pay and stay (though it is free from 6pm to 10 am). Reception and checkout were good. Hotel layout is quirky, being an old Coaching Inn with various extensions. Room was spacious...

Very convenient for the town and shops. Comfortable, warm room and good bed. Bathroom would benefit from a hand rail near the shower to climb safely out of the bath (no anti slip) good quality towels and bed linen. Some noisy guests enjoying their party (but it is the festive season) An enjoyable dinner, well cooked and presented. Excellent choice...

Went to The Bear Hotel with my Mum, Mick and my wife, we had all had a very stressful week. My mum had just had a major back operation. So we ordered three fillet steak for dinner and cooked beautifully even though we all asked for different levels, medium, well done and medium to rare, all were great. The other...

Been here several times and we always have great food. Good value. Good choice and always good service xx my only disappointment is they have stopped doing sweet potato fries which was always a favorite.
