Went for a birthday lunch here and the menu was one of those where you can't decide what to have because everything sounds so tasty! Once we finally decided, the food was excellent and the house wine list was fantastic - a selection of at least 6 different wines by grape, in both red and white sections, all at the... More

A long time has passed since we last are here. The open charcoal grill was the main attraction delivering meat eaters a fantastic choice of meats however that isn't in operation so it's all down to the standard kitchen which is a shame as the open brick grill is a real draw. We enjoyed fois gras and gravadlax to start... More

The Beetle and Wedge was very welcoming and accommodating to a large group of walkers from the University of Oxford, whom I was leading today. The manager, along with the rest of the staff, were very friendly.

This is a lovely restaurant situated on the riverside. It's a beautiful location and you can take a nice walk along the towpath in front of the restaurant. The service was perfect - very friendly and attentive without being too much. The food was really good, portion sizes generous enough considering the richness of the food. I had the crispy... More

Food was luke warm and greasy, rosti was burnt, place smelt of fish, no atmosphere, staff were not particularly friendly, could hear the people sat close to us moaning, won't be going there again in a hurry!

A very brief & short review from which I am unable to actually recall your visit. I hope that these issues were brought to our attention on the day. Sometimes there is a smell of food & on your particular visit fish as fresh fish is indeed on the menu. More

We went for dinner and overnight stay. Three couples - one celebrating their wedding that day, one celebrating their golden wedding that day and the other celebrating a birthday that day too! Shame no one at the hotel congratulated any of us - not a mention! Shame too that our table for 6 at dinner was next too a large... More

Sorry that you did not receive your three different congratulations. Can I point out to potential guests reading this that we are not a hotel, we are a riverside restaurant with three B&B rooms in a cottage adjacent to the restaurant. The hotel with the lawn closed 11 years ago & is now a private house. We do have outside... More

This was an overnight stay with dinner during a short trip around the Thames valley and we chose DBandB terms which proved excellent value. Our room was comfortable and stylishly presented with a fine bathroom. The riverside location was perfect and the meal of high quality. Breakfast was top rate and the standard of service (owner managed) exemplary. No hesitation... More

We were walking along the Thames and thought it would be nice to stop for a sandwich/casual lunch at this pub. We Saturday down at an outside table and went in to order a light lunch. Unfortunately they do not do any kind of light lunches or afternoon teas, or cakes. We had to survive on drinks and crisps and... More
