Read reviews for this hotel, particularly any relating to dogs ! We holiday at least 3 times a year with our dogs and it's very important to us that if a hotel states they are dog friendly, then this is actually the case. We have had a few occasions when our expectations have not been met, however on this occasion,...

My husband and I stopped here for dinner on our way back North. We enjoyed a good meal in pleasant and comfortable surroundings in the bar/bistro area. The food was good and freshly cooked to order as you might expect and the atmosphere lively with many people staying/eating in the hotel. It was a Friday evening with several large groups...

My wife and myself stopped in here for a meal while on holiday in the area. We were given a very warm welcome from the lady that served us. Good choice of food on the menu. Once our order was taken the waitress did explain that all food is cooked to order so does take a little longer to come...

We had stayed at this hotel several years ago and liked it. The hotel retained its friendly atmosphere and the rooms were clean and reasonably well equipped. However, the bathrooms would have benefitted from a more modern shower system rather than the difficult to control mixer tap for the bath. The meals were unfortunately variable in quality. Some were good,...

We always call at the "Tanky" for Sunday lunch when we are on holiday in Wooler. The Glendale beef, Yorky puds and fresh veg were superb. A nice choice of sweets and great service. Highly recommended.

Stayed here last night for one night. Room ok but bathroom a little shabby and could do with makeover. It's an old building which has a lot of character but it could do with a bit of sprucing up given the prices charged as it's not cheap. We paid £100 for one night including breakfast for two of us. Breakfast...

Beautiful accommodation where nothing was too much trouble. Within easy travelling distance for visits to Holy Island, Balborough Castle and Hadrians Wall. We're glad we chose the suite as this was by far the best room with a super king size bed.

I am amazed at the other relatively positive reviews for this hotel. Unfortunately we felt that the staff on our arrival were not particularly friendly and then the food was absolutely atrocious. Our children did not touch their meals- I couldn't even cut the pizza into pieces it was so hard. The chips looked like they had been hanging around...

We popped in 3 times for meals whilst in the area. Everywhere is clean and tidy. Lovely staff. The food is a great price with a wide choice and large portions. Nice sized beer garden and good for children. Would deffo return.
