Our first experience of B&B and what a joy! The location, just outside the small market town of Wooler, is perfect for exploring the stunning Northumberland National Park and beautiful coast. Hosts, Beth and Mike could not be more accommodating and friendly, with helpful tips on where to go and intriguing stories about local life. The quality of the accommodation...

Our 4th stay at Firwood was just as good as the first - a real "home from home" for a week in glorious surroundings with lovely views from the foothills of the Cheviots. Beth & Mike make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble- plenty of advice based on local knowledge about where to go and what...

In need of some calming solitude after an emotional and busy few weeks, which forced us to cancel our original plans for a longer Easter break, my wife and I were fortunate enough to find that Firwood had some last minute availability that suited our plans. We have stayed in many excellent B&B’s up and down the county yet within...

The location is idyllic, a rural setting with an abundance of wildlife on the doorstep, and stunning views across the valley. The tea & homemade cake on arrival was much appreciated, and we have never felt...

After being shown our rooms, which were very large and comfortable, we were invited into the lounge for delicious home made cake and tea. Beth made us feel at home immediately. Excellent B&B in countryside. About half an hour walk to Wooler. About four-hour walk to Ingram though you could hire a bike as well. Morning is quiet and peaceful. The staff are very helpful and helped me with my walk plan and lent me maps to go by. The room is cosy. There are a couple of interesting decorates in...

An excellent B&B in beautiful countryside with stunning views. Numerous walks from venue so able to leave car on site, transport advisable to reach pubs in Wooler although if feeling energetic or want a whole bottle of wine to yourself, it could be done on foot. Rooms large and very comfortable although our radiator didn't seem to work very well....
