We only stayed for one night at the Black Bull pub, chosen on price, location and the fact we could take the dog. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, the food was delicious, evening meal, pudding and full English, all freshly made, piping hot and tasty. The room was clean and had everything you... More

Stayed 3 nights in a kingsize suite. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful, with haggis as an option. Evening meals were huge! Very friendly and a lovely part of the world. Fairly quiet in the evenings, although they had an Open Mic nght, which was very good. Not your usual X-factor wannabees. Fantastic power shower and big telly! Lovely team of... More

Second night in wooler and we had decided to eat here as the food looked good the night before when we had a few drinks in the bar and it was popular. It was full and we had a drink and decided to order food about 8.30 as serving until 9. One of the bar staff came to our table... More

We arrived late after a long drive and were welcomed by a warm bar with lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Our room was on the second floor at the end of a corridor, so it was nice and peaceful. The bed was comfy and we had a great nights sleep, but it was tired: dodgy 90s decor, drafty windows, cobwebs... More

We popped in for lunch - very cosy traditional lounge at the front of this friendly hotel. Tasty real ale available from the Hadrian Brewery. I had a steak - beautifully cooked with mash & fresh veg. The other half tackled the hefty mixed grill which he managed all but the sausage which he took home for a sandwich for... More

Good pub, great food and in a great location for visiting places like Alnwick and Lindisfarne Breakfast was good with real butchers quality meats on the full English and the evening meals were also excellent.
