We stayed, with friends, for 2 nights so that we could attend a wedding in nearby Cambo. Attention to detail has ensured that the guest bedrooms are very well equipped and a delight to stay in. The same applies to the dining room. The library for visitors use is comfortable and relaxing. The whole ambience is friendly and welcoming as...

Stayed for one night whilst attending function at nearby Wallington hall. Owners are extremely friendly and pleasant and could not be more helpful. Stayed in pine suite, ideal if there are 3 or 4 in your party as two small separate bedrooms with inter connecting bathroom. Room immaculate with cosy and comfortable bedding, dressing gowns included which was a very...

We stayed for 2 days in the Pine room, which is a set of 2 rooms and a shower room, and although small, was fine for 3 people. Hosts take alot of trouble to meet requests, and are approachable and friendly. Very reasonably priced for the facilities on offer. Breakfast was good.

Shieldhall's accommodation is a converted 18th century farm building, which means that from the outside our room looked like the old stables and on the inside was a quality hotel room. All furnishings were of a good quality and modern, the only drawback for me being twin beds. Dinner with the other guests was with a set menu and time,...

Stayed for a three night break in half term. We expected good but this was far better. Everything was really good. This is one of the only places we have stayed where we couldn't suggest things that could be improved. Everything was so good! As soon as we tried Sarah's food we decided we would eat in every night. We...

Spent a long weekend here on our first visit. Well worthwhile as it is ideally situated for exploring local countryside or as a stopover on the way to Scotland. Unusually for a B & B they also do evening meals and we ate there each night on Aga cooked chicken, pheasant and duck. No choice of menu and set time...

We found Shieldhall in Alistair Sawday on the internet and spent one night there en route to Alnwick. We were sorry that we couldn't stay longer, there is so much to see in the area. Our room had a hand carved four poster bed which was the most comfortable bed we have slept in. The farmhouse and outbuildings have been...

Shieldhall was everything i wanted it to be and more for this special anniversary weekend with my husband. Stephen and Celia couldn't do more for their guests which in my eyes is the ultimate quality in making your guests feel at home... and that's exactly how we felt. The food was amazing ; the oak room where we stayed was...
