This utterly beautiful hotel is stunning, the bedrooms are spacious, you are provided with lovely Molton Brown toiletries, bottles of both still and sparking water and home made shortbread along with the usual refreshments. The reception areas are comfortable and very relaxing, filled with beautiful furnishings and classic furniture, completed with open fires. The staff are fabulous! Both knowledgeable and...

We booked with an itison voucher which included a 1 night stay & bottle of prosecco. We also had a glass of Malbec pre-dinner and a 3 course and 2 course dinner. All came to £130 which was excellent value & the quality of food was good. The host was very friendly giving us a tour on arrival & helpful...

Nice looking hotel but not as good as we expected. Room was ok but not that clean. Expected roaring fires on a cold February evening but main one not lit as told is kicks out too much smoke. Food was only average and felt like we were being hurried along - brasseries quite bland and too light. Thankfully only paid...

Lots of space in the diningroom with much elbow room. A very 'sweet' based afternoon tea, which did suit most of the company. Tea and coffee was very good. Staff could have been a little more attentive.

Having travelled to the borders for a short break to find a mistake in the hotel booking my wife and I stopped at the Collingwood Arms on the off chance that they had availability. What a find! A warm and generous welcome from Shona who made us feel at home instantly. Kenny behind the bar was full of local knowledge...

On our way to ford we stopped here for a evening meal. It was cold and snowey outside but as you walked in to the bar the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We were shown to a table and orded drinks as I don't have a big appetite I asked if I could have a sandwich instead of a meal...

Stayed for 2 nights B&B + bottle of Prosecco as part of Itison deal. Decided to upgrade to deluxe room and wasn't disappointed. Beautiful hotel both inside and out, very clean and well decorated in muted tones, plenty of communal relaxing space and open fires. Choice of eating in the brasserie (adjoining the bar) or the restaurant. Our room was...

Listen, I'm the worst vegan in the world. In fact, I'd go so far to say I don't even count as a vegan because when push comes to shove I'll eat vegetarian rather than watch my feasting companions through jealous eyes. The Collingwood Arms is lovely. All wood, brass and Farrow & Ball. Also, very lovely toilets - you can...

Had lunch here today with a friend. This was our first visit but definitely won't be our last. Warm and welcoming hotel. We sat in the residents library by the fire with our drinks whilst waiting for our lunch. Lovely menu, very reasonable. The food was delicious, the staff friendly. Can't wait to visit again. This will be on our...
