Comfortable, clean and such a relaxing, friendly atmosphere. Complimentary drinks and biscuits to top it off. Lovely garden and gorgeous scenery all around. Incredible value for money! Nick is a lovely host and is very pet friendly. His bird tables bring lots of interesting small birds although the woodpecker did not grace us with his presence this time. We booked...

I have stayed at the Friendly Hound several times with the most recent over the August bank holiday with family. Nick provides a friendly and helpful service. The rooms are comfortable and clean with en suite bathrooms and views over the countryside. If you want a relaxing break this is the place to stay. It has easy access from the...

Affable host Nick is very welcoming and helpful. Comfortable and clean, there are thoughtful touches like complimentary drinks, toiletries and lots of local information. Easy access off A1 and only 15 minutes from Lindisfarne and 30 from Bamburgh.

We can only fully endorse everything written by AnthonyBen, July '13. Cleanliness, quietness, a wonderful garden/summerhouse/ponds to relax in (will the redheaded, black and white wood pecker visit Nick's massive bird table while you are relaxing there?). Nick was very friendly and most helpful regarding local attractions. Did not need to eat again all day as the breakfast was excellent....

We had a great time. Nick was wonderful to work with and treated my family like family. If we get a chance we will stay again with Nick. It is very close to Ford and Etal which are beautiful towns. We would stay again in a heart beat. We hope we get the chance to.

This is an absolutely wonderful bed and breakfast. It is perfectly situated between Holy Island and Berwick upon Tweed (9 miles either way), a few hundred yards from the lovely village of Ford and very near to the equally beautiful villages of Etal and Heatherslaw. It is true that some form of transport is necessary if you are staying here...

A nice clean place with good food a bit out in the sticks but once again 2 dogs! what about allergys? The location means you have to travel by car to reach a pub to have an evening meal :-( I would choose a B&B nearer Holy Island or on the Island.

We stayed at the friendly hound for two nights our second visit and it was once again perfect. The room was spacious and so comfortable and Gale and Nick could not have done more. The bed and breakfast is perfect for seeing Northumberland. Its only about 20 minutes from Berwick and within 20 minutes of Holy Island. Wonderful
