We stayed here for two nights and it was ok. Public areas are a little tired, but the staff were very helpful and the location is good for walking. Good place if you prefer to be in the countryside. The breakfast wasn't great, bacon a bit dry and poached eggs overcooked. Having said that, my husbands poached eggs were perfect,...

Our group of friends spent one night in this hotel. It is located on a quiet road in a rural area near the coast, next to meadows with horses and farms. Our rooms and bathrooms were comfortable and spacious. We had dinner here - all very hungry after a long walk along the coast - and it was very good....

I stayed at Marshall Meadows on Tues night 21 July 2015 I believe it was room 19. The welcome was ok and the room in itself was fine. However, at around 0100hrs I was awakened by a horrendous grinding and squeaking sound that continued for 30 seconds then stopped for 75 seconds then started for 30 seconds then stopped for...

A few facts : 1. We did send the promised voucher by post 2.We have checked our inbox and are not in receipt of an email saying the voucher had not arrived. 3. The reason we sent a voucher was because this gentleman did not want a refund to the card used to pay the bill. I quote from the...

The room and hotel and staff were lovely but the food left a bit to desire. Vegetables at dinner were cold and the breakfast was a complete disappointment, We asked for scrambled eggs and toast, what we got was scrambled eggs on crisp bread, toast really should be brown! And more than one slice would have been nice.

Lovely room overlooking car park and countryside. complete with creaking floors, bags of hot water, good bathroom, great bed. Stayed one night on the way to the Highlands, The staff and the t.v. entertained us royally. Staff warm, friendly, helpful if and when needed. Afternoon tea in the lounge with shortbread great addition. Breakfast; a delight to behold, complete with...

A warm welcome once again greeted us as we came through the door. The bedroom was smaller than last time and although the shower cubicle was small, the shower was powerful. The room did smell of 'dog' with the window closed, we were lucky that the weather allowed us to keep the window open all night. Although we were traveling...

The hotel is in a beautiful old house, just off the A1 . Even though it is so close there is no noise from the road. The staff are extremely helpful & friendly. Our room was small but very charming shabby chic, with a lovely four poster bed . But the bathroom was not as nice - broken tile by...

Lovely welcome from reception - comfortable room although the pillows were very hard. The only thing that spoiled our visit were VERY noisy guests all night, slamming doors and talking loudly outside the rooms. The walls are very thin!! We were told during the evening there was a wedding party staying there and in fact the bar was closed early...

We spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel. We were given an outstanding room with a four poster bed even though we had not specifically booked this room. Hotel was lovely but could do with a bit of an update especially the rooms. Our room was ok but small and normally as a classic lodge card holder you would normally be given complimentary fruit / chocolates in room but didn't get that here. Reception staff were pleasant and always greeted you when arriving or leaving. We only had...

Marshall Meadows is an authentic Georgian, 3 star country house Hotel, standing in around 15 acres of peaceful grounds with sea views. It is uniquely situated just outside the historic town of Berwick-Upon-Tweed only a stone's throw away from the A1 crossing point of the Scottish Border. It is, therefore, both the first and last hotel in England depending upon one's point of view. The hotel comprise 19 letting rooms, in addition to a main bar, residents' lounge, restaurant, large function area and music room, conservatory and terrace overlooking a large well manicured front lawn. Entrance to the grounds is via a tree-lined driveway flanking a wooded stream. The rear of the hotel overlooks a farmyard, paddock and walled garden. The location allows easy access to the main town, Northumberland Coastal attractions such as Holy Island and Alnwick Castle, National Parkland and the Scottish Border Regions. ... more   less
