An old (18th century) coaching inn situated in Belford - which used to be right on on the old A1 Great North Road until by-passed... We stayed at the Blue Bell on a Wowcger voucher which was a very good deal. The hotel is sympathetically furnished in a style appropriate to its character.Andwe loved our big four poster bed! It...

If you can ignore the drab, depressing and dated decor and the dining room with no heating, the Sunday lunch was lovely. We had two courses which were excellent and very good value for money. But the hotel is very tired looking. If someone was prepared to spend some money bringing the place up to date they would be on...

Have stayed in the bluebell hotel several times over the last few years. Each time the staff are friendly but the condition of the hotel let's it down. The bar isn't particularly relaxing and the rooms disappointing . Loads of lovely hot water for a bath but the shower hardly worked. The decor is poor but the bed comfortable. The...

A hotel should be clean, quiet, and comfortable and this was. A traditional hotel - a blast from the past - but, nevertheless, very good. The bedroom window could be opened to get fresh air - no whirring air conditioning. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. There is a restaurant with good food. I would stay there again.

We came to find this hotel through living social and got an absolutely fantastic deal. If you are looking a hotel such as the Ritz then this place isn't for you. If you are looking for a well run hotel with polite staff, clean rooms and clean bedding then you will be satisfied. The hotel also has a really inexpensive...

The hotel has character, the staff are wonderful, the rooms are clean but needs a bit of tlc. Lovely comfortable large beds for a good nights...

We stayed at the Blue Bell last week on a Wowcher deal, £139 for 3 nights with £20 nightly credit in the restaurant, daily breakfast and a bottle of Prosecco on arrival. We paid an extra £10 per child per night, so ended up shelling out a further £60 but this was not an issue as we enjoyed the break...

This hotel is ideally located to explore North Northumberland and the borders. It is an old coaching inn situated on the old A1 just off the present A1. The rooms are a decent size although a little dated. The restaurant serves up lovely food and the breakfast is one of the best. The staff are friendly and attentive.

Having stayed here previously approx. 20 years ago we were interested to see what had changed over that period. To be frank not a lot! It was still a very old building needing some TLC but it was clean, tidy and comfortable. But, the quaintness gives the place character. The staff very fantastic, very helpful and accommodating, nothing seemed too much...
