We have a special place in our hearts for Bamburgh having got married in the Castle. We normally stay in the Victoria, but this hotel is absolutely fantastic. We stayed in room 20 (ground floor with huge bay windowed area), the room itself was lovely, well furnished-to a high standard and was very comfortable. We have 2 dogs and there...

Stayed for 2 nights, hotel very clean and very well presented. Our room was on the first floor the 'Purple Room' which was ideal and beautifully clean. The room was warm and the bed very comfortable (have since brought a new bed because of stay as we did not realise how uncomfortable our bed was at home). Breakfast was excellent...

My wife, dog and I stayed for one night in room 20. The room was nice, as was the breakfast. Modern accommodation. Dog friendly. Located just 2 mins away from the centre of the village and a 10 minute walk to Bamburgh beach, which is great for dogs! Overall good with just minor niggles you get anywhere really. Very accommodating,...

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband celebrating our wedding anniversary. We stayed in room 17 on the first floor. We were shown to our room and immediately noticed how cold it was. It was 0 degrees outside and icy, in the room the window was open and the only radiator switched off. The radiator eventually warmed up although...

I stayed one night in Room 18. There was a very noisy extractor fan and the noise from this was present in my room until 9pm and started again at 7.15am. This spoilt my stay. I complained when I left the hotel, but the attitude seemed to be 'tough' we have to use it. Perhaps the room above the kitchen...

We had a great stay here! The staff were so helpful and friendly, they even let us check in early and leave late which was most appreciated! The room was lovely and had everything we needed, the travel cot we had requested was all set up and ready for us on arrival. Breakfast was nice and the lounge area was...

We spent 2 nights here, although we had booked 3. Really enjoyed our stay, but it was cut short as the hotel boiler broke down on the Monday morning, and unfortunately the staff had no choice but to close the premises. They gave us a generous reduction in our bill, and were obviously upset at having to make that decision....

A pleasant hotel with a very friendly staff and excellent breakfasts. We could not sample the evening meals as the chef was away. So, more of a b&b than a hotel for us and we had to eat out each evening. The room was spacious and well appointed though the shower screen was broken. Felt it was a bit pricey....

Visited Bamburgh for a midweek stay and the Sunningdale Hotel contributed to a lovely stay. Clean modern designed rooms with a fab breakfast cooked to order. View of castle from our bedrooms and a great location in Bamburgh with beach, castles and local eateries within walking distant. Good base to visit Northumberland coastline. Friendly and helpful staff.
