Agree with most of the previous reviews. Six of us stayed there midweek. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was excellent including breakfast which contradicts an earlier review. We had breakfast both mornings and thought it was excellent with plenty of choice. Fried eggs on the buffet but the staff cooked any other variety fresh on request. Ideal location to...

Over priced "£94 per night" travel lodge checked in, given Room1 which to my dismay had no air con and was right next to the main doors and the lift, So I went to reception asked if they had any rooms with air con? Reply" NO OPEN YOUR WINDOWS" what the whole 2" ok have you got a fan I...

As a three star pub with rooms we do not have air conditioning. In our opinion reimbursing you for the cost of a fan was a lovely gesture by our team that goes above and beyond!

Stayed at the Hogshead for two nights B & B, overnight Fri 22/7 and Sat 23 but also purchased dinner on both nights. Our large room was a good size but the second bed was small - suitable for children only. For a reasonably new hotel the corridors are dark and gloomy. We were on the first floor - no...

Thank you for your review and feedback on our family rooms that are inclusive of breakfast. It us hard to comment on the pricing without knowing the details of our party. All our pricing is available on our website.

Had a Sunday carvery a couple of weeks ago. The hogs head itself is beautiful- nice, decent priced and modern rooms; and the restaurant area is the same. However the food let us down. The vegetables were rock hard and barely cooked, and my beef was tough as old boots. Service was good- I did inform a waitress of this...

That's a shame to hear. Our carvery usually reaps rave reviews?

Very nice atmosphere, but food was lacking finesse. Saying that, the prices are reasonable and the premises are very clean, so I would visit again. I had the potato skins as a starter, they were cooked enough, but unfortunately they lacked crispness, they were a bit soggy. For my main meal, I chose to have the Caesar salad, it was...

The location of this hotel is ideal, just outside Alnwick straight onto the main roads to the principal golf courses. Situated in a quiet area with full on quality. Great food, great rooms and great staff. I will be back next year for the same competitions

Four of us used the family room for three nights including breakfast. The room was very spacious adequately accommodating four of us. There was also a pull out sofa bed so potentially six could use the room. As a family of five ( daughter was not with us) searching for a room that sleeps five is difficult. This room would...

Overall good value for money. Good sized rooms, reasonably modernly decorated (bathroom looked a bit dated, but wasn't). Very good, efficient and friendly service - the staff are obviously well trained and actually want to be there, which is pretty uncommon for a hotel in this price range. Decent buffet breakfast.

Popped into this venue on chance at 2pm on a Sunday lunchtime to see if we could get a carvery meal. The scale of the restaurant is enormous and a bit overwhelming when you walk in, and it was very full! But we didn't have to wait long until a table for two became free. Payment is at the bar...

We were very pleased with our 7-day stay at The Hog's Head Inn. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The staff went out of their way to please. The car park was huge. Our room on the first floor was very comfortable and well appointed with coffee/tea tray, free Wi-Fi and room safe. We ate in the restaurant...
