I got married at the White Swan in December with their mistletoe and wine package. As soon as we visited the hotel, we knew it was perfect. It was the only venue we looked at because we were so taken with it! The wedding planner, Valerie, was brilliant with keeping in touch and helping us out with plans right up...

Very pleasant and helpful staff on reception . We had been allocated a first floor room which was quite a walk from the reception area and main entrance. No lift for anyone with a disability. Staff reallocated a room on the first floor which was helpful as we did not want to leave a lot of Christmas presents in the...

I began planning my wedding in July 2013. Both myself and now husband found it a real challenge agreeing on a venue as everything I wanted was pricey and everything he wanted just wasn't right for us (in my opinion ) My parents went to the White Swan for a meal one evening and the next day rang to tell...

We have just spent 2 nights at this hotel for my sons wedding and feel that despite us having a great wedding the hotel could have been a lot better. The staff were a bit of a mixed bunch with some being very helpful and some giving the feeling they didn't really want to be there and bordering on unhelpful....

My daughter got married here on Saturday and it was fantastic! The hotel was beautiful, all of the staff were helpful and friendly, nothing was a bother to any of them, from the manager, housekeeping, bar and restaurant staff, they all helped to make it a special day, especially Katy and Carl. We stayed for two nights and had a...

This was a surprise from my other half as we are both titanic fans and wanted to stay over and eat in the Olympic dinning room which was the sister ship. The staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. Would highly recommend a stay here and for sure we will be returning. Thank you for a great experience...

Then autumn special is the way to go. The tea came with coconut macaroon cookies, sugar cookies, scones, cream & jam. Dinner was good. Breakfast was good. The room was good. Everything was good but not great but it is good deal for a couple needing a get a way. There is no lift/elevator, so not great for anyone with disabilities....

On our arrival we were offered a large room at the back of the hotel which was very cold and which had a noisy extractor fan from the kitchen outside. Set in the heart of the historic market town of Alnwick and only a stone's throw from Alnwick Castle and Gardens, The White Swan is a charming 300 year old coaching inn that blends its unique heritage with superb accommodation. For generations one of the North of England's primary hotels, The White Swan is probably best known for its Olympic Dining Suite which features the magnificent panelling, mirrors and stained glass windows from the Titanic's sister ship. All 57 bedrooms are designed to an impeccable standard, and Hardy's Bistro, our contemporary, informal dining experience, is open all day for coffee, light lunches and an excellent bistro menu. The perfect stopover en route to Scotland, we're also your base for discovering the famous gardens at Alnwick Castle, and a tour of the very best of the North East with its unspoilt coastline, historic castles and Holy Island, Northumberland National Park and the exciting cities of Durham and Newcastle.
