I took a short working holiday in beautiful Northumberland, staying at the YHA hostels in Berwick, Alnwick and Wooler. While they were quite different, all were excellent stays. They made a superb trio for a week's break, and the public transport between them was good. The self-catering kitchen was clean, tidy and well equipped, and the hostel catering seemed to... More

Great hostel. Big showers. Really handy for town. Try morisons sup earmarked for cheep good takeaway coffee. Be aware of rip off business fare to Alnwick station. Taxi is cheaper if two and still better option if only one

We had an enjoyable stay at Alnwick YHA. The Warden was most welcoming and helpful. The self catering kitchen and the hostel restaurant are both excellent facilities available to all members. The private room we had enjoyed the benefit of an on-suite bathroom. There is also a comfortable T.V. and games lounge.

Well kept hostel. Room share of 6 with only 1 other occupant, 'on suit' could have been busy if fully occupied but it was a pleasure to have. Kitchen and dining facilities very good. Excellent area in Alnwick historic market town with good facilities. Bus stop outside hostel which travels to Berwick on tweed and Newcastle giving access to coast... More

Only one night here, but enjoyed our stay. Were moved to a 2-bed private room as there was space which was good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Plus Alnwick has a massive second hand book store, where we spent most of our time!

This was our second stay in this hostel, and it won't be our last! Alnwick is a great little town, with the castle, gardens, Barter Books, and great places to eat & drink. Not far from some great beaches and other castles. As per the title, the staff are friendly and helpful.

Good room in excellent location in central Alnwick. Excellent selection of beers, guest kitchen and dining room. Friendly staff would gladly stay again. The rest is padding to arrive at the 200 character minimum!

A spotlessly clean, friendly place, with excellent facilities. Perfectly located as a base to explore the beauty of Northumberland, or explore the wonderful Market town of Alnwick! I visit Alnwick regularly and always stay at the Hostel.
