if all B & Bs were like this then hotels would be defunct. The external view belies the real quality of the rooms and the facilities on offer. Professional approach by the owners, booking in and friendly approach. The room wanted for nothing. Spacious, free wifi, TV with DVD Player. Comfortable chairs, clothes cupboard, dressing gown and slippers. What more...

A warm welcom awaited us when we finally found Ravensmede Cottage. It is not the easiest place to find so I'll begin this review by explaining how to find it if, like us, you do not have satnav. Northbound - Passing The Oaks pub on your left, enter the first roundabout you encounter and making a 180 degree turn head...

My husband Stuart and I went to Alnwick for our wedding anniversary and spent 3 nights at Ravensmede. We were pleasantly surprised by the immaculate attention to detail of every aspect of our stay to make it as relaxing and comfortable as possible and very pleased with their delicious full English breakfasts (with black pudding!) Our room was colour coordinated...

We received a warm welcome on arrival and shown to our room. It was fresh bright and clean with a very big bathroom for our sole use. The house is a bit creaky with some sloping flooors but that just reflects its age and charm. Our room was great and very quiet at night. Breakfast was freshly cooked for us...

This b&b is fifteen minutes walk from centre of Alnwick in a residential area. Parking was easy which is a bonus in Alnwick. The room was lovely - spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and furnished with everything you could need. Room had hairdryer, iron, tea and coffee stuff, toiletries, DVDs player with DVDs to watch, free wifi and plenty of storage...

I stayed overnight at Ravensmede on my way up to Scotland and what a find! A wonderful B&B with great character and beautifully furnished bedrooms (at least mine was so I presume the others are the same.) I stayed in one of the upstairs rooms, decorated in a classical style with heavy brocade curtains, wooden floor, and beautiful old furniture....

We were at Ravensmede Cottage from 6th to 10th October 2014. This is one of the best B&B's my wife and I have stayed in for a long time. It really does have everything you would expect - good value, peace and quiet, a warm, friendly Northumberland welcome, very comfortable beds, a good standard of décor and clean, well appointed...

We enjoyed our 2 night stay, and would certainly use this accommodation again. The full english breakfast was freshly cooked and really good quality. We were made to feel welcome, but not fussed over, which is exactly how we like it.

We stayed here for 3 nights with our granddaughter. Everything was clean and tidy and the breakfasts were super. We were well looked after and would be happy to stay here again if the need arises in the future. Thank you very much!
