We stayed one night . Room was modern with tartan furnishings.A small bathroom with shower. Downstairs is a bar and upstairs is the kitchen and the restaurant. The problem was that only gastropub food is served forcing an expensive food bill.. There were no light meals in the bar or typical pub fare which was what we wanted. The breakfast...

Booked a table here last Friday evening at the end of our stay in Alnwick. We arrived early and were taken straight upstairs to our table. I actually thought there must be another bar upstairs as we weren't offered drinks first. No atmosphere upstairs at all. Food was ok but nothing too special. Staff were attentive and at times overly...

Mr T and I have been here a number of times and every time it just gets better. At Easter I took my parents for Easter Sunday dinner - wow that was special. My Mam has mobility problems, nothing was a problem for them, allowing us to sit downstairs so that she didn't have to climb the stairs, constantly checking...

Bar service poor from disinterested staff. Overnight stay in this hotel after visiting the theatre. Room fine, clean and comfortable. No staff members on site after 1.00am, meant that no one to deal with guests who began banging on the fire escape door outside our window at 3.00am. The commotion continued for some time with lots of banging and shouting...

I nipped in here for a tea time pint. When the bar staff eventually stopped talking they managed to serve me. From memory it was approx £4.30 Foolishly I decided to stay for another half. Surprisingly the price wasnt half the amount the pint was. When I asked why I was told that beer is dearer for the non locals!...

We visited Alnwick for the gardens and castle tours so decided to stay at The Plough hotel. Literally around the corner for the Alnwick Gardens & Castle (Treehouse restaurant also) Nice terrace at the entrance for a drink if it's good weather, even though it was by the road it wasn't noisy or too busy. The entrance to the hotel...

I am vegan and eating out can sometimes be a challenge. I often rate a place depending on how they can rise to the challenge. In the Plough there was nothing vegan on the menu, however, I was offered 3 amazing options and the chef made me a butternut squash risotto from scratch and it was really amazing. It was...

Come here with friends often but brought my family here for the first time last week to test the new menu. Couldn't fault it in the slightest. The food was delicious and unique for area. My mum is severely allergic to garlic and the chef made something from scratch to accommodate her. Highly recommended.

We booked this as part of a visit to Northumberland. The car park is spacious but the passageway to it is tight for a wide car, pulling your wing mirrors in is advisable. It is an old coaching Inn and is full of character. The bar area is very comfortable and beautifully decorated in a modern style. The breakfast was...
