Good food, beer and wine overlooking the Grand Union canal. Lovely view. Caters well for children without nuisance for older diners. Plenty of choice for dining location both outside and in. Good heating in the winter.

Nice pub and food okay but portion sizes are very small so don't go hungry. 3 of us had smoked mackerel as a starter but when it turned up Ther was half of one fillet on the plate 😏 I then had the Poullet for main and that was only half of one. Went home and had something to eat....

Took the DB&B option which reduces the cost of the room - great value all round. All rooms are in a separate block across the car park from the pub. Our room "The towpath" was very comfortable and great for a 1 or 2 night stay. Any longer and maybe its a bit small, no wardrobe, no cupboard. It was...

It was our first experience at the Narrow Boat. Expected linen napkins and tables laid properly instead of everything shoved together in the middle of the table. What we did have was nice so we would go back but it does lack those finishing touches which lets it down slightly. Also the waiter brought the wrong drinks so we had...

Visited with group of 11 people for mothers day meal. Staff were very rude had to wait 40 mins for main course even though the restaurant was quiet. Kids ice creams came out after 20mins but as milkshakes where they melted. Waitress then taking card payment walked off with one of the parties bank card and then argued with us...

Visited with family for Mother's Day and was really disappointed. I think the place has gone downhill since I last visited. Looked at the menu online before visiting and the menu served on the day had far less on it. Would've thought they would have offered a special set menu given the occasion. Camembert wasn't cooked enough and the garlic/herb...

We went on the strength of the Masterchef connection. Food was OK, nothing special. I had the mackerel starter, woeful amount of fish, probably about a dessert spoon full. Tasted nice but overpriced I then had the sea bass. The fish was nice but the noodles seemed overcooked, mushy with no texture. There is a serious lack of decent places...

We popped in for a lunch passing by on the A5. Liked the menu but not the prices.......(why when we see "country dining" do we expect top prices and ordinary food?). A couple of drinks and a small meal was £20. Service pretty average and one other 4 some walked out after seeing the prices! Perhaps we had a bad...

I am kicking myself that I didn't say anything at the time but I was out with family and didn't want to cause a fuss. I never complain about anything and love my food so rarely disappointed with a meal but I left this place hugely disappointed. Especially as I had seen on FB that it had won awards for...

Clean & tidy with welcome smile from staff on entering the bar. Starters of soup, prawns, pate and rabbit was presented well and tasted superb. Three steaks and cod again presented well and heaven on the taste buds. Staff happy and attentive so made the evening. Thanks to you all and will return.
